All,

I found some "Spray Nine" multi-purpose cleaner in my household and was wondering if it is safe to use on the engine bay, or even possibly the wheels.

There are obviously dedicated cleaners for these specific jobs, but I would like to find out here first, rather than try it on my own and mess things up.

I have used it on my polished exhaust tips multiple times without any issues.

I haven't used that stuff in maybe 20 years but I remember it as being pretty mild. As with any "APC" it's possible that it may haze some plastics and paints, so you don't want to let it dry or dwell too long.

Never tried it but I don't see what harm it could do. One thing I now do for my engine degreaser is to add a little bit of dish soap in the bottle. This makes the product foam up when I agitate it and it really helps with the cleaning process. As long as the degreaser you are using is not caustic, the worst that can happen is that it won't be very effective. So I would try it out and see if it works or not.
