Dawn has a lot of surfactants to cause water sheeting and prevent water spots on your dishes. Your IPA wipedown should remove that, but it would be better to not put them on there in the first place, and use one of the automotive "reset" soaps, however, you can certainly do it the way you are suggesting if you have other reasons to use Dawn.

Reason for using Dawn is I have it and at this stage just the one car to do.
Got Carpro Eraser instead of IPA.
If I used Dawn would Eraser be sufficient to remove everything?
