Can the residue be removed without damaging the decal?
Unfortunately the previous owner removed the black factory decal and applied this silver one directly over the residue.
Can the residue be removed without damaging the decal? I dont really want to strip it off and spend 200 on a new decal set.
I've tried carefully using a claybar and a q-tip with degreaser.
*edit: I guess the forum destroys image quality. It's what you'd suspect: An outline of the previous letters that doesn't quite line up with the new ones.

Degreaser won't touch that. Need to use an adhesive remover. 3M general purpose adhesive cleaner is a good one. Just a heads up, even after removing the residue, there might be some "ghosting" remaining.

Thanks, I'll check it out. As long as I can get it looking good from a foot away or so I'm happy.
