Always looking to improve my lighting. Especially with all the paint correction I do. Pictured is my current setup. Along wkth this I have a Scangrip Miltimatch on tripod.

The new lights I ordered yesterday from Obsessed Garage should be a nice improvement. I got 5 of the 6 bulb units. They will be mounted and hardwired in so no wires exposed and outlets will be covered.

Those look good. In my experience, the less indirect and diffused light you have the better. Spotlights in a black room show defects you can't see anywhere else. So, when you do correction, try turning off all the lights and work with just your headlamp and spotlights.

If you want to see the difference, turn off all your lights and just walk the car with your headlamp.

i am looking to add more lights to my garage and would like to know which are better for detailing in garage cool white or daylight leds ?

I would suggest anything from 4500k to 6000k temp lights should help get the job done. I really like the hyperikon led tubes and have had good exp w/ that brand.

What headlamp are you using? I’ve been looking at the Scangrip but wonder if there is a cheaper alternative.

Hyperikon fixture, which is a premier choice for garage lighting among other areas. It is one of the best high-end product with good performance. It features a LED technology with top-notch diodes that packs 133 lumens per watt. :)

Of course there is cheaper, but not better by a long shot.

Geez, it's been a long time since this question was asked - I'm sure a lot of people have started and stopped by now and I'm just about to retire myself but nitecore and fenix make good headlamps and this one JETBeam HR30 Rechargeable LED Headlamp with USB-C Port looks pretty good too. I like the 18650 batteries and white light, because the white light seems to show defects better though colormatch maybe not so much.
