The best window cleaning product

Hands down the best glass cleaner I've ever used is the Meg's Glass Cleaner concentrate D120. I also love to apply UQD (D156) to the glass for a streak free, rainX effect. The polymer coating is especially good at making future cleanings a breeze.

You mean Megs UQW not UQD. I agree I use D156 on every part of the exterior, probably my favorite product and it lasts!

How does the D120 compare to Sprayway?

I use Stoners. It works for me, I can get it locally, and it's not outrageously priced. Is there better stuff? Maybe. I just know I like Stoners better than the variety of brands of glass cleaner I used to use.

I'm pretty sure you'll be happy with any of the recommendations from this forum. That's where I found out about Stoners.

Dear Friends

Ain't nobody gonna vote for Diamondite Perfect Vision?

I have a gallon of this stuff. It must have been on sale.

I've read glowing words about Chemical Guys's GlassWORKZ from knowledgeable detailers. (I don't have any of this. It probably wasn't on sale.)

Diamondite Perfect Vision was the first glass cleaner I used from Autogeek. It worked very well. I since have found another cleaner that works better and is cheaper and available OTC.

I recently bought bought the Diamondite Perfect Vision as well as CG Professional Window Clean The Diamondite is becoming my go to cleaner (because I have more of it than the CG one thanks to BOGO), but I will probably purchase the CG product again because it is cheaper and IME better than OTC cleaners that I had been using. I also think that its cleaning power is about the same as Diamondite Perfect Vision, but my windows are never too dirty so I need to find some really dirty windows to compare the two products side by side.

oh and the Meguiars smells GREAT too...the Stoners will make you want a stoner to fart in your car because that would smell better than their glass cleaner.
That made me literally laugh out loud!! That's just too damn funny.

I have never been wowed by any particular glass cleaner. The stuff I use is cheap by the gallon and is made by a small formulator that mentioning would be against the AGO rules. Whatever is cheapest I say.

By far the best I ever used is dodo clearly menthol.

Agree
IMO 40% is product 60% is what you use to apply it. Most glass cleaners do roughly the same job but it took me months to find the right cloth to apply it smear free. MF waffle weave does it for me. Washed in hot water and rinsed until suds free.Found out the hard way that they will get a build up of soap after a period of time.No more smearing and they appreciate some vinegar in the final rinse also.
My window cleaning time has literally been halved.

Time halved? Now you are speaking my language!!! Any particular brand of waffle weave? Ever tried Huck Surgical towels?

Sprayway. I have a bottle of the CG and have not been impressed with it. I just bought some new glass cleaning microfiber so I'll see if it does any better now. But so far Sprayway for me.

Yes halved. When i first started i used cotton,NO good smears then someone said flannelette,NO good still smears then tried terry still smears. Found a local dealer (Australia) with the grey/blue mf waffle. From what i remember 80/20 blend I think(because I took all the tags off I'm not certain) The tags tend to leave marks behind as will something that has rough stitching on the edges. Yeah sorry they were unbranded so can't help there. Can assure time will be cut dramatically with the right towel and the larger the better it gives more dry area to work with and saves using two. 16"x24"
Imho

Thanks for the reply. I love cutting my work time in half and do it any time it is possible. It has been tips like this that have enabled myself and others to be successful at what we do. The last thing I cut in half time wise is compounding and polishing after studying Kevin Browns writings "in depth".

invisible glass aerosol (like it much better then the spray and i used to love the spray.

So what color and scent is the megs D120? A local shop has some @ $15, but it looks medium to dark brown to me, AG's pic looks bluish. I'm thinking it's a mislabelled product.

Sprayway. Had a whole gallon of Meg's Glass Cleaner. It smells bad, used it as a drain cleaner instead. Worked great.
