Hi guys,

I'm slowly getting my detail addiction on.

I have a car that has water marks on the hood, trunk and glass windows.

What is the best way to remove these?

Are there any particular products or methods I should consider using as a solution?

Appreciate any advice or info :)

Mike Phillips has an article on this. He shows how to determine the "type" of waterspots, and then the best way to attempt removal. Let me see if I can find it.

The way I deal with them is to try vinegar to remove them, I let it dwell a couple minutes to dissolve and mineral deposits. If that doesn't work, I begin with claybar, then polish or compound to remove them.

I have used the following products when removing water spots from windshields/glass:

1. Buff & Shine 4" Green Polishing Pad
2. Duragloss Nu-Glass #755 (tape off molding)
3. G110V2 on speed 4/5

Seal with Duragloss Rain Repel #751

Best of luck,
James

Good recommendation! :props:

To the OP - this is not recommended for paint, just glass.

With that being said I did use 755 on my acrylic shower door this weekend and it worked wonders on the water spots. It surprised me how well it worked and there were no ill effects from using it on plastic.

I do think that knowing the type of spots that you are dealing with would be a plus. I want to check out Mike's article which was mentioned above.
