Griots Ceramic speedshine

Ceramic Speedshine is a Quick Detailer spray and the Megiuars Products are spray sealants, so they aren't the same catagory of product. For Speedshine the focus is light cleaning and maybe a drying aid. The Meguiars products are designed for providing a quick application of mild protection.
 
I would imagine this would make quite a good drying aid. States it can be used this way.

It does. I've been using it as a drying aid and really like it. You can also spray and rinse off. Been using it for wheels too.

I'm curious how much protection if offers by itself.

I have GG Rinseless Wash diluted in a QD ratio that I will likely using as a drying aide going forward once I'm out of my Speed Shine. I think the Rinseless Wash is more economical and should work very well. I have found GG Rinseless Wash easier to use than ONR. However, The Forensic Detailing Channel did a scratch test with ONR and some other products and it produced less scratches than the others. I enjoy tests like that because we rarely get to see any scientific testing done on these products under controlled conditions other than durability panel tests with APCs thrown at them which gets old and is not very realistic IMO.
 
Ceramic speed shine leaves protection behind that lasts ~1 mo. I've primarily used it after cleaning my car, not to clean it.

Griot's told me it can be used that way, which surprised me. There was a FB question they asked about what products we'd like to see from them and I suggested a Wet Coat type product.

I tried it that way on the headlights this weekend and it worked. As I was rinsing the truck off, I sprayed it on the headlights and immediately rinsed. They became hydrophobic. I don't know if its anywhere near the level of Wet Coat though. Wet Coat was designed ground up to be a spray/rinse product.

This was their response (2x btw):

"Hi, you can actually use Ceramic Speed Shine as a rinse aid in a similar way to Gyeon Wet Coat!"
 
I'd like to see a product like this too but CSS is basically their quick detailer w/ceramic in it and I'd think the concentration level would need to MUCH higher to be effective as we've become accustomed to with specific products already on the market

I think it would be a waste of product using it as a Wet Coat type product. If it's not designed that way it can't be as effective IMO. Carpro/Gyeon perfected those products.

You probably wouldn't want to use it to clean the whole car, that is for a waterless wash. However QD's are great for spot cleaning things like bird droppings, random smudgy finger prints, etc. I also use them for a post-wash wipe down to remove random water spots from the wash. Funny part is with many waterless washes these days you can mix them a little thinner and they pull double duty as a QD spray too. Often at a more economical cost. It's the main reason ECH2O is my QD spray these days.

I would like to try out the Ceramic Speed Shine simply to see what it's like. I've got a few other Griots products in my garage and been happy with most of them. The regular Griots Speed Shine seems to be pretty popular at our Cars and Coffee events. You frequently see people using it to remove the bug splatters they picked up on the drive to the event.

That's how I feel. Going forward I'll likely using my GG Rinseless Wash as a QD and also interior detailer. And window cleaner.....

I've read many great things about ECH20 to the point I was considering trying it, along with Hydro2 Lite. Those two products, or equivalent type products, make detailing easy.

I guess we can thank Optimum for that.
 
So is the consensus to use CSS for clean up on 3 in 1?

.... or something else?

i use it around the house as well, it's a great product and very versatile. the dilution for use in spray bottle (for those who don't know) is 6:1
