isopropyl alcohol. Used as a solvent to remove any residual oils/fillers after polishing. It allows you to see the true condition of the paint after a polishing step so that you know you got all the swirls/rids.

Coming from a weekend junkie who wants the best from my own personal rides and not in the class that most of you are....i read every post and so many times confused by the "code"...this post is AWESOME. Might I also add...thank you to everyone who helps me without even knowing it....THANKS AG.
 
Cuts the fat out of the guesswork... and keeps me from the mental intrusion of creating my own 'made up' definitions... which btw are usually associated to omg wtf are they talking about?

Awesome list, now I have a great reference until I learn the lingo.
