1963 Plymouth Fury Burning Out after filming "What's in the Garage" TV show!


Here's Carlos backing his 1963 Plymouth Fury with a 440 Wedge Big Block and Dual Quad Carburetors onto the set of "What's in the Garage".

With our new set layout each car needs to be carefully backed up and then crabbed into place.

Once the car is in position we start filming the segment...

On my left is Frank Hawely, my guest celebrity for two episodes...

Here's Carlos and me getting a shot with his car on the set...

Now Carlos is moving the car out of the Studio, Nick and Darlene were on hand the entire day to help move cars in and out as well as create product displays...

Here Carlos is saying something but I'm not sure what as his Plymouth Fury is kind of loud... in hindsight I think he was saying...

"I'll do a burn-out as I leave"

I didn't hear what he said but I heard his tires when they started talking!

I quickly grabbed my trusty, dusty Canon Rebel and snapped a few pictures...

Carlos really laid down some rubber!

The concrete is incredibly coarse...

IF you're here for Detail Fest I'm pretty sure these are going to be here for a while, so maybe get your picture taken with the burnout laid down by Carlos with his 1963 Plymouth Fury!

I give it a 9 out of 10...........I would of given a 10 on the burnout but he deviated off the contraction joint in the concrete just a little.

Gotta love those old cars. My dad had 67 Plymouth GTX 440 supercomando, automatic and sky blue. One of these days I'm gonna find another one, buy it, and then park it in his driveway and say "here Dad...it's yours."

I was enveloped in a cloud of smoke about a large as our building taking pictures and after laying down some rubber Carlos hotrodded out of the parking lot.

I'll probably see him this car or one of his others cars at the Tuesday night car show and I'll look to see if there's any rubber on the panels and if there is I'll offer to help him clean it up.

I'm guessing he's going to have to purchase a new set of rear tires...


Carlos was also on the show with his all original 1964 Chrysler Imperial, these are the cars used to make the Green Hornet Cars. On the show I demonstrated how to remove swirls and scratches and now there's a spot on the front hood that's clear, glossy and swirl free and the rest of the car is filled with swirls, scratches and oxidation.

I've offered to Carlos to come over to his house and help him to finish the entire car so he's not stuck with a classic car with just one section of good looking paint.

We've invited all the owners of the cars used for our second season TV show to bring their cars to Detail Fest but just to note, there's no way I'm going to have time to help restore the paint on all the cars we demonstrated on to showcase a product. So some will still need to be put through what I call an "Extreme Makeover" to bring them up to show car quality.

I had a '68 Charger with a 440, the back tires always wore out before the front ones on that too. D***! that was fun!
