One Giant Lexus Gets a One Step Correction & Opti-Coat Installation

Zach thanks for your usual great write up, photos and fantastic results. My wife has the same SUV 06 in green, same metal flake. I'll be using the DP coating on it soon vs opti-coat.

Your work is amazing. Great write-up!
Thank you very much!

Nice!! I have really enjoyed the documentation of your work. Keep posting :props:
^I'm glad you like it! I'll keep 'em coming! :xyxthumbs:

Zach, I always enjoy looking at your work. Amazing job as usual.
Thanks! :dblthumb2:

^The color and metal flake in this paint was so gorgeous... makes my grey lexus seem boring even though it is also highly metallic. I can imagine the green w/ metallic would also be very attractive. Be sure to post up a Show N Shine thread when you go to work on your wife's ride!

Very nice job! I love seeing the horrid marks like that on the fender virtually disappear.
Do you ever bother topping Opti-coat with any wax or is it not really necessary?

Due to the nature of those coatings, a wax will not be able to form a proper bond to the surface, therefore it is not worth it IMO.

I do, however, find it useful to decontaminate the coatings every year or so with Iron X (and light clay if needed) and then use a product like ReLoad to help restore the coating to a like new level of protection.... this is not technically necessary though.

Good to know, thanks! I'm still trying to decide if I want to opti-coat or not. I'm leaning more towards doing it on my daily driver just due to the fact that I don't care about that car's luster as much.

That looks really great. It would have taken me 2 weeks to do all that work. Just to clarify, all the polishing was done as a one step with Perfect Finish?

I just got a Gibson exhaust tip and Opticoated it. Did you OC the tip?

I know capturing all those 50/50s is a lot of extra work for you, so Thanks.

Looks great!

^Opti-Coat provides an excellent level of gloss so I'm not sure what you are worried about. While I think the Silica coatings (22ple and CQuartz Finest) provide a bit of a different gloss/shine, OC2.0 is definitely very nice as well. I can tell you I will always have a coating on my vehicles. It just takes protection to another level, and on top of that, the increased ease of maintenance is noticeable.

^All polishing was done with Sonax Perfect Finish, one step process.

I did not coat this particular exhaust tip since the polish I used contains a metal sealant as well.

It is nice to see someone take pride in their work and go above and beyond! That really makes me want to get my wife's GX470 done!

I'm sure you've been asked before but.... What kind of camera do you use?

Great work! Thanks for taking the time to document your work. Keep up the good work.

Zach your one that I always love looking at your work, impressive my friend.
