14 Corvette - my own detail

White doesn't really show any of the cars lines though and it gets really bad when you get to the rear, the non-body colored rear diffusor becomes even more pronounced! I really hope someone soon has it painted body color, shows it to GM and then they make the change. I understand contrast but that thing goes up waaaaaay to high and makes the car two-tone in the rear.

Can't wait to see a green one inperson or even a good pic of it!

Have to say I completely disagree, but as they say, different strokes for different folks.
I will say that pictures don't do these cars justice. Especially for the interior. I've been in a couple of them and prior to that I was still concerned over the plastic look of some of the interior bits. Not after sitting in them.

So here's the thing, so much controversy over the rear (too high of a diffusor/Camaro-style tailights) of the C7, just like the split window of the original production Sting Ray and then they changed it the following year, maybe something similar will happen in 2015....stay tuned!

That green on the C7 is very close to the green that was on my ex-girlfriends 90' Corvette, LOVE GREEN on the Corvettes, now I just need some green to buy one, LOL!

You do realize lighter colors show the lines better, right? Arctic white looks incredible on corvettes.
I saw the green one in person and to me it looks blah. It looked like black when it's dirty.

How does white show the lines of a car compared to a dark color? Also, the green looks "blah", to each his own for sure:-P

Beautiful car! Looks and feels like you should be driving the strip with "In the air Tonight " playing. Love it

Congrats on the car! I have only seen a white one with black wheels but I must agree it looks much better in person.

I've only seen on C7 "in the wild", a red Z51, not sure why the dealerships here in Chicagoland haven't gotten them yet, maybe they're sold and trailered away before anyone can see em'.

Darker colors such as black reflect everything. Body lines aren't as pronounced as a lighter color. Go to google and type in "black c7 corvette" and then type in "white c7 corvette" and you'll see when you compare the two.

Here's the thing. It is a matter of the setting the colors are in and the lighting and all that. Clear clear coat reflects white light so on a white car you may not be able to see a contrast therefore, you may not see the body lines. On a black car in a pic the light may be reflecting off the body panel, not the body line. So, you may not be able to distinguish the lines from the panels.
Silly to argue about this when we have Obama(don't)Care to argue about.:dblthumb2:

I had 2 of friends tell me the same thing about lines and light colored cars, they are both more artistic that I am so their opinion holds more water than mine. I guess I'll just say that the darker colors look better on cars like the C7, also on my little CRZ too!

I was looking at your build thread on my phone and pics were "kinda" smallish, could you post a pic here? Just thinking out loud here, I'd like to see a C7 have its rear area painted satin black, kinda like how the C5-6 LeMans racecars were done, I bet that would look awesome (not suggesting this for yours, just thinking out loud)

Btw, is your a 7 spd?

nope AT, not interested in shifting anymore...

tropical mist dodo juice wipe down today - amazing stuff - the hood:

the car:

Thanks for the extra pics Glen, I hear that all the time about not wanting to shift anymore, my late Dad said the very same thing with the last 3 Vettes he had (brand new 96' anniversary package silver on silver, used 93 and finally used 01') I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it but I honestly can't say I can ever hear myself saying "I'm tired of shifting".
