Looks great! what did you use to get that stuff back to black

Chemical Guys VRP Dressing. I used a brush and IPA to remove the previous wax residue from the trim. The entire paint tape that separates the two colors had wax in it...was a lot of fun. :)

I was going to ask the same question. Thanks for the info!

Great detail. That truck was seriously contaminated before you started. I can only imagine the owner was happy.

Very nice work!!!

However.....is that a Cobra symbol? Whhaaaaatt :(

Yup...I'm not sure what it meant tho, didn't seem like it was super upgraded.

The horizontal panels left like sandpaper. Zero smoothness. Worst contamination I've experienced to date. That clay is from 1/4 of the hood.

I wonder if one of those nanoskin DA pads would have been the ticket for this detail? Probably would have saved you some sweat. :xyxthumbs:

Truck looks great your really honing your craft. Most 3/4 and 1 ton are abused and beat to death. Any idea on how many miles it had?

I'm just a weekend warrior and never detailed a truck that large. How many labor hours did it take?

Nice work Scott. Very thorough work.

It's funny you should say that because I put one in my cart for my next order. lol

71,000. Only driven on the weekends because he has a work truck.

Nice work Scott. Very thorough work.

You did a great job.

Thanks guys! :dblthumb2:

Great work on the truck but why a clay car AND Speedy Prep towel, just curious?

I have a fine grade speedy prep towel that I used on vertical panels because they were far less contaminated.

I used the clay for the heavy duty work (horizontal panels) so I could just toss it when I was done.

I'm hoping this helps to extend the life of the speedy prep towel.

I bookmarked this thread as a reply to future F 250 questions.
Simply over the top detail. I would not have guessed this vehicle's age after your skillful detail.
