Rupes Knock Off

Hard to not support them when damn near everything sold in this country is made there. Really unfortunate how saturated the US market is with Chinese products.

Support them for stealing another product someone else came up with? No thanks.

I don't even buy chinese food. Does that count?

So..... Everyone that are bashing the chinese companies for making a different version of a product; do you have or buy a GG polisher? If you look up this company making this Rupes "styled" polisher you would find they GG polisher.

Do you enjoy your cheap flat panel TV? Same deal. Someone came up with it and someone else figured out how to make it cheaper and over time better.

I will at least consider this new polisher as the Rupes has prove the the setup will work.

"Cheaper and better" requires innovation, an improvement on the original. Outright stealing of intellectual property and creating confusion as to the origin of goods is not innovation.
The "super microfiber madness" towel that looks almost like the German made towel is not an innovation. If its really better and cheaper, why give it a name designed to create customer confusion?

There are a bazillion products with "made in China" stickers on them. I don't see a lot of products designed and developed in China. Not saying they don't exist, but its a terrible disincentive to spend huge money developing and designing a product in a country that places no value on respecting intellectual property. Easier to rip off things designed by Americans and Europeans, pay slave labor wages, and make money by selling for lower price.
If that's a better business model, then I'll be a better consumer and go out and get my groceries cheaper by stealing them from the local supermarket.

The Chupes reminds me of the EMW - the Russian made BMW:

Another communist rip off.

Yes it does, IMO. I don't either.
Knock-offs are just one thing that irks.

Billions...No: Trillions of dollars worth of Chinese mergers/takeovers have occurred just recently...
with many, many more to come. Stamp of approval by our "Lawmakers and Regulators".

And pretty soon it's going to be difficult to traverse anywhere in the USA without crossing bridges and driving on roads...
our superstructure...that are being rebuilt by Chinese construction firms and their Chinese employees.

Weren't these jobs promised to go to our hopelessly
unemployed people, by our current administration?

Where's the American-Outrage over these Chinese-scenarios?

Seems we've been afraid of China for a long time now.

TO WIT:

"Why have the Americans not made a fuss about the fact that more than 100,000 Chinese troops
help you building the railways, roads and airports...although they knew about it"?
~Chairman Mao to Vietnamese Premier Dong, ca. 1970

Is China to be (in the end times):
"And the number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million;
I heard the number of them".
Revelation 9:16

^^ I thought Obama was the End of Times ???
I just can't see him commanding, what will eventually be, well over 200,000,000 soldiers.
Or even as the Antichrist.

I've heard some folks allude to his likeliness of being
either Satanic, or the False Prophet, though.

And I have my doubts of him ever being able to
operate a "CHUPES" on a professional level!!

Bob

2 people at work got in an argument wether or not Obama was the devil, or the antichrist. One thinks Obama is putting chips in our hands that will cause the sky to open up and pull all the good people up to heaven. The other person thinks Obama is a fascist trying recreate the new world order.

At least one good thing has come out of all this "Obama-thing":
People are communicating more on a personal level...even up close and personal at times, it appears.

Nothing good comes from OBAMA lol. But I see what ur saying.

I can't wait for all these knock offs.
They will all suck.

I love the original G100 and my Bigfoot. And will buy these every chance I get.

The G110v2 blows because it's made in china and Meg's can't seem to get the bugs worked out. I'm on my 5th one and expect to send this one in any day now.

So buy your harbor freight crap and enjoy, but I'm not on board with any of it

I agree with you all.

However we are the minority. When this finally
Comes over. The masses will buy it because they don't know and better nor do they care. Also the price difference will probably be significant.

You could sell them for $200 a pop and double your money while charging half of what Rupes charges. Sad really, that the company that put the time and money into developing a product has it knocked off in under a year.

I'm just curious to see who is going to be the one to private label this.

Based on the color combo and design enhancements I have noticed I would guess Griot's will be one of the first. Which makes sense to me since it appears as though the same company makes their 6" polisher as well.

I'd say that's a pretty fair guess. Either that or the mfg is trying to market it to Griots by doing it with their color scheme first. It's a safe bet Griots will be selling it with in the next 6-8 months.

So then the question is will anyone have the same reaction when griots sells these? Will you all be upset that griots took the fupes?
