Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

I agree with Monica on the JCW GP's, being so rare (and made in Italy) they should be left untouched except for things that can be bolted on like the ram-air intake for the R56 for instance and its not like you have to ever touch the exhaust on a JCW R56...oh wait, this is coming from the same guy changing out the back half of his Abarth, never mind, LOL!

FYI- I'm only talking about the Gen1 GP :D
The Gen2 is meh.

Hey Monica, can you imagine the GP F56...EEEEEK!

Don't get me wrong, the Gen2 GP is pretty nice, but for 45K? I would by something else... just saying.

OMG- nooooooooooooo!

Got an email from NGEN and my exhaust is slated for a Thursday delivery, hopefully my buddy can install it for me Friday in time for Supercar Saturday, a monthly car meet the 1st Saturday of the month. I've always missed this show for whatever reason but will not be this Saturday, expect pics to be taken and a thread started!

The axle-back is at the FedEx location in the area, so I see it being delivered today, now I just gotta hope my buddy can install it for me soon, maybe tomorrow, stay tuned!

Also I was reading about the cat-less DP and everyone is saying its loud, NGEN who's been modding the DP (made by Modern Performance)says it is loud but not too loud, so its going to come down to needing to hear it inperson, so I'll probably need to travel somewhere to hear it before I buy it. Out the door, with everything needed to make it work w/o getting CELs, is about $400. Not sure about the power gain but I'm sure its noticeable though, so its possible the FMIC will have to wait, along with the lightened crank pulley. It just never ends with cars, does it :props:

The exhaust is in!!

It took about hour for the install, I washed his 79' RX7 while he was doing it, stayed busy as always. Anywho, once done and he checked everything 5x's, I started the car up and the first thing I noticed was BASS! After 3 revs it pop'd loudly, LOL!

We then took the car out for a little ride, TC turned off and I nailed it in 1st, grabbed 2nd, spinning the tires and got good rubber going into 2nd and it backfired loudly, LOL! When I said it "takes the sound to 11" I know what they mean now. Its louder from the "bassy" standpoint but doesn't change the great sound the car has in stock form which everyone loves! Now the thing I don't get is this, those whom have the exhaust say it sounds better after break-in, hmmm, what is there to "break-in", there's NO muffler or resonator, LOL! I guess time will tell on that one!

I like how the tips look compared to stock, BIG TIME! Like a pair of bullhorns back there, this helps with the sound for sure too, not to mention the design of the system itself, so much better than stock!

So now the I C E is complete on the Abarth:

-Intake: Euro Compulsion V2 R3T short ram intake

-Computer: 500 Madness V2 turned to #7

-Exhaust: Modern Perf axle-back

The exhaust sounds great, more "bassy", more "snap, crackle and pop" too! The "butt dyno" says I have more tug too and then there's the looks, soooo much better, tips are HUGE! The sound is a "tweak" of the stock sound which is already great, one of the best sounding new cars from the factory, IMO but honestly, it really is, so what this does is "turns it up to 11". I've gotten some input as to why it sounds better over time and they sound like legit reasons too, from the metal hardening, lack of carbon build up in the pipes, etc....I'll run with it and keep everyone posted here!

Thanks Monica, I'll be there with you guys in spirit this weekend!

After monthes of playing "door tag" on my way home from work I finally caught a light with a car to play with while out and about with my wife yesterday. I saw the car in my rearview mirror and actually came up to a red light and got over so we'd be side by side at the light. Well when the light turned green we kinda "rolled out", low speed, about 10 mph and we went at it! In first gear w/ the TC turned off the car turns the tires over pretty good, even from a roll and I CRUSHED the other car, it wasn't even close!

So what was my first win against? It was a bright blue R56 MINI w/ a white top, of all cars! I thought it was going to be either a GTI or Civic Si as they're very popular here in Chicagoland. So sorry Monica the MINI was my 1st victim:-)

Here's why you'd get a gain in whp with this system:

Oh Roger, you know that's not really a MINI :p
Regardless, well done :xyxthumbs:

Just hit 10K on the way to the dealership to get the oil changed. The tires are @6/32nds all the way around so we decided to skip the rotation, they only need to make to Thanksgiving and they'll be getting replaced. I should also say the oil isn't even all that dirty, the combo of driving route and how I drive I guess, LOL!

Now the oil will be fresh for the Dragon Run, its only 28 more days to go, the car is ready and I'm ready!
