I can think of a lot of better products to use for that....

Mirror Glaze #20 for one would be a lot better and made for that use.

I can also but the dealer sells this sealant as a package with interior and exterior protection. 9 times out of 10 the customer doesnt know/care about the product. They hear paint protection helps the paint look better and shine longer and they are all for it. Just another way for the dealer to squeeze every penny they can get out.

I love this color on these cars. I would kill for a Laguna Seca in this color. CJ Pony parts has tow of these cars that they have done up that look awesome.

I LOVE THAT COLOR!!!

Now who was it, that's been saying, that a dealership paint-protection-product couldn't amount to more than a hill of beans...
This vehicle looks fine and dandy!

Good job OP...:props:

I have seen it done right before, more than a few times.

It all depends on the Dealership and if they have a person that knows what they are doing that is actually doing the work.

That's more of a rarity than the norm though because they are only interested in moving the cars out as fast as they can.

Quality costs money, more money than the norm does.... Like 5 mins with a rotary and dirty wool pad and some wax on it.... After maybe a 2 min wash and wipe down with dirty rags ....... That is the normal way.....

Sad to say that, either way...
The misinformed customer is paying a lot more, than just a few dollars, for a regular ol' Sealant.

The bottom line is the dealerships don't care about anything but the bottom line as in profit.

And the customers want the cars cheap as they can get them so that cuts into that profit margin.....

So in the end the customer gets what they want, cheap.......

And Swirls, holograms and other issues come along with cheap.

It's just as much or even more so the customers fault than the dealerships since they have to make a profit to stay in business.

So they get what they get in the end....

One pays a lead price they don't get gold..... They get lead......

Someone has to pay the guy to do it the right way...... It's not free......

Another thought...

I used to sell cars years ago....

And if I could have gotten away with it I would have personally gone over some of those peoples cars with 80 grit sandpaper.......

Ouch!

This seems to go a little deeper than a dealership just paying the get-ready guy somewhere around minimum wage to apply a sealant.
Sorry for your having uncouth customers back when.

Bob

Its true most dealers only care about the bottome dollar but in my case they pay a good amount to make thier cars look better then any other dealer around and it helps! Our sales have gone up over 25% since i started working for them. Not only that but i have customers chompin at the bit to get one of my full details. Our buisness is better then ever and it all comes down to one thing. Quality :)
