Well, at 37 hours, praise the Lord, we are done.

- It wasn't a great day to take pictures.
- I hate my camera (my incompetence not the camera).
- I'm a really bad photographer (I have signed up for lessons).
- These are a few decent pictures.
- Final prep using Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Regular.
- Final LSP is Swissvax Mystery.

Can you provide a list of products that you used? I'm going to be working on a 2011 Brilliant Black A4, and could use some suggestions! That looks great!

Wow. I thought the first picture the car had that chrome wrap on it. Nice work.

This was a massive and ongoing effort...refer to previous posts. I will provide a short list of products used.

- 3M Trizact 3000-5000 grit paper on Rupes Duetto and Mini.
- Rupes microfiber blue disks with Rupes Zephir.
- Megs microfiber disks with Rupes Zephir.
- Rupes green pads with Scholl Concept's S3 Gold.
- Rupes yellow pads with Sonax Perfect Finish.
- Rupes white pads with Sonax Perfect Finish combine with Rupes Ultra Diamond.

incredible, absolutely incredible. That paint was trashed, and I can't believe this is the same car. Stunning work! I wish there were before AND after pictures in this thread.

I have a question. A while back ago I was going to use the carpro denim pads on my truck to remove the mild amount of factory orange peel. Every one urged me not to though as I could burn through the clear coat. Obviously wet sanding is far more aggressive so my question to you since you are experienced with wet sanding and I assume that's the factory clear on the TT is wet sanding safer? I want my black truck to look as flawless as that TT and standard buffing & polishing just isn't cutting it. Lol no pun intended.

Those are great pictures I think you need a refund for that class.. Car looks fantastic!!

Was all that time on the exterior, or where the wheels and interior as bad as the exterior you showed us earlier?

The turn around is amazing and it looks great now.

Clearly, the fruits of one's labor......beautiful work! :props:

Zero work on the interior. The wheels were terrible. The first time Sonax Full Effect has failed me...had to use CarPro Trix...a far superior product but hideously expensive.

Great job man! I think that would make any owner proud!

You always want to leave some orange peel or there won't be much to work with the next time someone wants to polish it. Wet sanding with 3000-5000 is less aggressive than CarPro denim pads with the added advantage of not heating up the surface. I would not go any more aggressive than 3000 on OEM paint using the Duetto or the Mini. They cut really fast. Get a GG 3" polisher, some 5000 paper, and watch Mike's excellent tutorial. You won't screw the paint up. Once you're comfortable with that, try 3000. PM me if you have any questions.

Regardless of your photo shooting skills, clearly your detailing skills are not lacking. Outstanding work. I look forward to seeing more of your projects.

A friend of mine runs a photography studio. I'm signing up for classes. A got a Nikon D7100 and lenses for my birthday, but that's like giving a pig a Rolex.

Holy 'Batman'! that thing looks Chrome instead of black, it's awesome! Can we say you've achieved perfection we all look for?

Thank you for taking your time and effort on sharing this with us.

Can you please, explain a bit how do you use Perfect Finish by Sonax, if possible, with details on technique, speed, pressure, buffing time, wipe off, anything...

I have a bottle of it here unopened, because I only get mixed opinions ranging from 'Use it with DA freely' to 'do not use it on DA'... the opposite!

I have a Flex 3401 and CCS, flat, hybrids, hydro-tech pads (an many others I've forgot).

Thank you in advance,

Keep detailing, you're great!

Kind Regards.

Trust me, this car is far from perfection. The paint was too damaged to get everything out. But it certainly looks a lot better than it did! Everyone has their opinions on Sonax Perfect Finish, but to me it is amazing on Rupes yellow pad or Rupes white pad. It tends to clog pads so don't use much. 3 dime size drops are enough the first time, then one drop when you move on. I run it on speed 5 for maybe 3 passes. The "chrome" reflection look is Swissvax Mystery...hands down my favorite wax on black.
