Hi all.

Running a little behind here in starting this thread. Preparing for this event was definitely a challenge, the event itself was very nice with great weather great people and a great turnout. I had a fantastic time!! Putting things back to normal at the shop today, combined with my regularly scheduled work was a huge challenge and a long work day. I'm going to add photos here as I get time. Between myself behind the camera, and mostly my friend Josh, I have a lot of great photos to load. Josh did a great job of capturing the event!! Thanks Josh.

I want to thank you all for coming to my shop and sharing the passion for detailing. The fact that so many folks came from so far away leaves me humble, grateful, and with a huge respect for all of you.

I have photos loading right now as I type this. Please add photos or videos here as you wish. I have so much I'd like to say to all of you who came to this event, I don't know where to start, I'm really tired right now so I'll just say that all the work was totally worth putting this event together. Every single person (even the lurkers) were just so nice, friendly, and the perfect picture of teamwork, friendliness and simply great people!!

Thanks.

The huge respect from this old boy is for you. I look forward to the photos.

Yeah looking forward to the photos hopefully members can send me them, but if not I'll copy them from here.

(only kidding) lol

Here are some photos from when Andrew showed up til he left with a very shiny car. We managed to knock out a majority of the finer swirl marks in the paint on this beautiful car. There's still room for improvement, and I'm sure as Andrew works with his polisher of choice, knocking out his wife's Subaru paint, getting lots more practice at correcting paint, he'll be able to take his Mustang even further. We discovered that the clear on his car is super hard. There simply wasn't enough time to concentrate on more correction than what we achieved.

The goal was to have a great fun filled day and work at making Andrew's daily driver as good as we could while teaching, learning and fellow-shipping with other like minded forum friends. I believe we accomplished that goal.

If Andrew is up for it, I'd like to get together with him over the wife's Subie, on a more focused paint correction mission. That's something I hope to see happen.

Here's some photos for now.

A long time lurker showed up in a really cool Trans-Am with TastyKakes!!

More to come in a minute.

Detail Kitty, This girl really is concentrated awesome!!!

Before I get too far into this, I have to give a big thanks to my shop landlord, Tim Hughes from "Access Bus and Van Sales" and "Need a Lift" handicapped accessible van rentals for allowing me to put this event together. His success relies on having a good mechanic and detailer on site, my success relies on his operation.

He could have said no when I asked if I could park his fleet of stock vans and rental vans back here, but Tim's a great guy.

Are we ever gonna get started Dave?

Now we're on a roll.

Andrew's first shot at "Surgical Detailing".

Dave (Spiney) checking out his progress..

Andrew confronting and overcoming his fears...

Time to lay down a sealant for under the Son1c 93.

Literally just finished this up! It's a essentially a time lapse of the Detail Event put on by the incredibly generous Dave! Everyone there was awesome and it was a pleasure spending the day with all!

That means I'll load up a few polishers, Andrew's pads that he left behind at my shop, and drive to Philadelphia to double team that Subaru.

Yes, we did have a great day. Thanks again for sending the pads, the Wolfgang products, and the Duragloss samples up.

Between Andrew, Don, Eric and all the rest of the folks who attended, there were so many products to choose from that the Duragloss samples never got used. It's OK, I'll put them to use. It was nice to have a few brand new Ultrafiber pads to work with, and the Wolfgang products were top notch.

I'm really glad you had a good time, and learned a lot while you were there. It was really nice meeting you and having you at my shop. Thanks for coming..

We did use some of the 501 I think it was. There wasnt much "external" washing and detailing going on, we focused more on Andrews Mustang

Looks like you folks had a blast!
It's only a little over a month until our meet in Chicago!
