Harbor Freight Junk!!!!

now days i dont know if that is true or not. I used to believe it, but not now when so many things are made at the same 6 factory's in Korea , china, Japan , or mexico.
Heck even Johnson and Evenrude are both outboard marine,, or they were back in the day,, Zenith Phillips and Magnavox all from the same plant. I know im quoting old names,,, but the point is still the same.
Bell helicopters cost more than a Eurocopter,,, Are they better? must not be since they are 15th on the list of manufactures. ( I know this due to I work for Bell)

This website if full of great talented and well informative people. If you plan on detailing and taking care of your vehicle why not buy your products from AGO!!! Harbor freight sells junk and it just cost you double in the long run!!! IMO!!!!!

Sounds like you have an axe to grind. Did you work there and get fired? As others have said, there are some good products there you just have to be smart enough to know what they are.

LOLOL Sounds like you are awfully close to hitting the nail on the head! Im the MAN

I use a lot of horror freight stuff. It is was it is. I just finished refurbing a camper, the money saved using horror freight tools, stapler, compressor, multi-saw, allowed me to use better materials to get me camping again. Not everyone can have a fascom and festool equipped shop. Do the best you can with what you have,

I go there all the time. Love that place. Only issue I've ever had in my years was a halogen light that didn't last long ($10)

Folks, I have the Chicago Platinum 6' DA (HF). I have both B&S 3.5" and 5" backing plates. I have had "NO" problems with this polisher. For me... a nice DA for $56.00. I use it on several cars I do.
I read here a "PRO" detailer say he uses this set up with a 3.5' B/P and also for a back-up unit. So, how bad can this unit be?

We have 2 of the DAs now, and we use both pretty hard for our business. We don't have 5 paint corrections a week or anything, more like 2 all in ones and interiors (we equip them w the cyclo carpet brushes too). The DAs are fabulous. We got two for the price of a PC, and are way better off. We had a PC but I traded it to my brother for his dewalt rotary. I didn't care for it too much

What Exactly are the mods for the Harbour Freight dual action variable speed polisher (the one that cost~$67.99)?

The best mod for the HF is to toss it and replace it with a better polisher.

Haha funny guy.. So you went to harbor freight and bought the 67.99 polisher and tried it out, and that's why your "trashing" it?

Interesting conversation here, i buy from harbor freight but by no means so I buy tools, now why spend over $100 on microfiber a that are going to be thrown away anyways, not let me explain I use cheap microfiber a to clean panels with ipa before I paint them, it's a great cheap throw away option also there rubber gloves are great nice and cheap and hold up really well, at the moment I can't really think of what else I buy there but some of there stuff is good but other things are junk but for the price range it's pretty good

Harbor freights warranty is awesome in my opinion. If you burn it up, bring it back and get a new one no questions asked.

have you personally used the HD DA? IMO it works just as well as the PC with a little more power and is priced just right for someone who only does a few corrections a year (perhaps more if needed). yes it's made overseas just like the GG6, but that doesn't mean everything over there isn't of good quality. both superior shine and garry dean speak highly (along with many others) of these polishers and they do more corrections (and abuse these months on end) in a few months than both me and you will ever do in a lifetime...

I needed a cement mixer since I was doing my own driveway and garage floor.
I priced used ones on Craigslist and rentals. It just made since to buy one brand new in a box from Harbor Freight. Was it made as well as the $1600.00 professional units I looked at? Hell No!
Did it mix all the concrete I needed? It sure did!
And since I cleaned it every night with a pressure washer before putting it away it started out every morning looking brand new again.
And when I was finished with the project I was able to sell it for $15.00 more than I had paid for it since I had assembled it and they come in a box from HF.
I have also bought tons of hand tools and some electronic stuff (OBD2 reader) from them. And like was already said, read the reviews first.

I've had my pancake compressor for blowing out MF pads for 3 years never a problem. Yes I would never buy my polisher from there but there are lots of small things I buy that are very good. Like gloves, razor blades, safety Glasses and small stuff like this.
