1967 Camaro

This is a car that a local shop did a full rebuild for a customer who was going to surprise his wife by having her Camaro restored / modified. The car had been sitting in a barn for 15+ years in primer, stripped down, and no front clip. It was snuck out of the barn and brought to this shop about a year ago and is now ready to be delivered to the owner. They had a surprise unveiling a few weeks ago for the husband to present the car to his wife. (It was pretty cool to see that in person! Just like Overhaulin')

The car stayed at the shop to get aligned and to install some parts that were on backorder, but it is now done and ready for the keys to be handed over to the owner. The shop that built the car asked me to give it a once over before they loaded it in the enclosed trailer and deliver the car to North Dakota.

I went to the shop last night to find the car covered in overspray or something that hazed up the finish so it needed to be clayed before any polishing was to happen. After the clay bar a quick pass of M205 made it shine again (with some M105 on the RIDS that I noticed). Topped off with BFWD and loaded in the trailer at 12:45am this morning.

I was busting my butt to get it done, so I just snapped a few after pictures as it wasn't really in bad shape.

Just a cool car with a cool story and I was glad to be part of the 'Overhaulin' story.

I'm currently working on about 4 hours of sleep as I had to go to my 'day job' today..... Yay!

It is getting delivered to the owner in ND on Monday and the customer is sending back a '55 Chevy to be fully restored and built with an LS9. :cool:

Wow! Great story---funny she didn't notice it was missing out of the barn for a year. I guess it was truly forgotten.
 
That color is amazing. The car looks really good.

It sounds like they have a bunch of cool cars in barns that they have been collecting for many years.

Thanks. I think it was a late model GM color with a nice fine metallic.

The car has an '90's LT1 with an Edelbrock LT4 top end and cam. (Sorry Mike Phillips -- no BBC in this one!)

I love the color and nice work.Who know`s what changes were made between 67 and 68 on the Camaro?

Side Marker Lights weren t available in 67 , it became mandatory in 68 by Federal Gov t Regulations as well .

Also , Parking Lights on Front Grill , 67 s round , 68 s rectangular .

Tail lights different also , as well as spme engine options . The list can go on & on I guess .
