Zora Arkus Duntov Corvettes

The one year only Grand Sport was a true "rare" Corvette and its too bad they used the name on the C6's for their GS models, those really take away from the 96's. As we all know the 96' GS had 330 hp vs. 300 hp of the standard LT1, so that made the engine option of the LT4 even more special, although it was also available in the special edition all silver ones in 96' too.

All this Grand Sport talk, let's talk about the first one to bear the name!

Yet another "LT4"...this one's for the 2015 ZO6:

I know I can come up with a better/new
"numbering system" for GM's engines!

My Brother's 1996 Collector’s Edition just turned 1900 miles this (2014) Summer.

1900 miles in 18 years, I don't get it Bob. I know it says "Collectors Edition" but not driving it deprives you of the experience, does he have another Corvette to enjoy?

IMO that Collectors Edition is really nothing special from a collectors standpoint, although I'm no collector but rather a fan of the "plastic fantastic". I remember when my late Dad got his right before he retired from GM and I took it out with 55 miles on it and took it up to "well above" the speed limit and thought it was awesome, well, that was until I drove his C5, that extra 45 hp (more with his Magnaflow cat-back) makes ALL the difference in the world!

BTW, I agree with you about the engine naming codes, I mean this is the 3rd time around for the LT1. The ZR1 was originally an option package in the early 70's, then in 90' it became its own model, just like the C6 version was.

Been thinking about the title, here's one for "the man"

...and "the man" himself, talk about COOL!

I really wish, with all this talk about "special" Corvettes, when's there going to be a Duntov Edition? Maybe call it the ZAD??

"The Condor"...
Original customization by: Jack Walker (ca. 1970s)

Considering its current state-of-disarray:
I'm surprised that this car actually sold
for $24,000 at Barrett-Jackson 2014!!

People are now starting to get their 2015 ZO6s delivered!

Some are inching-up close to the C6 ZR1's sticker price...
(The ZO6 Convertibles' sticker will probably reach that stratosphere.)

I saw a dyno of a brand ZO6, buddy sent me a vid, driven off of the lot (did a HUGE burnout) and it put down 587/611:cool:

Then I saw another vid of a new ZO6 and Viper T/A going from a 40 to well let's just say "up there" and the damn Viper crushed the Vette:rolleyes: It was said both cars were stock and super low miles too. I'd like to say this to GM....TURBOS!

To GM: Get rid of Eaton's SC!!

And:
I'll always take my ProCharger SC over any turbo.

IIRC Eaton's a big supplier, so that's not going to happen anytime soon. That said, lose the belts and add a pair of hairdryers on there, free hp due to no drag and probably better mpg's too, something we've gotta live with nowadays;)

$100k for corvette??? No thanks.
^^^Nothing new.^^^
•A 638HP C6 ZR1 was stickered a little over $117,000.00.

•Wait until the price for a 700+HP C7 ZR1 is announced!!
•We sure won't be buying any of the new C7 models.

I certainly don't wanna start a Porsche. vs. Corvette debate here but $100K Corvette is a bargain compared to a 911 turbo. That said, Porsche people don't cross shop for Corvettes and vise versa:banghead:

I forgot to mention the Corvette now has an interior and tech too, sorry:thumbup:
