Favorite Wash Mitt?

meguiars 4.95 wash mitt. Works well and is great imo.

For chenille mitts I like the cuffless Autofiber. I use is mostly like a pad too. Otherwise, Meguiar's mitt.

Thanks guys seems like the most popular one is the Supreme Micro-Chenille going to order that for now.

Ill snag the MM Incredimitt once spring hits.

How often do you throw them in the washer/dryer?

megs mf wash mitt, thumbless sheepskin mitt, and/or lowes proline grout sponge to name a few. not really a fan of the chenille wash mitts (caterpillar strands)...

Favourites:

Merino wool wash mitt, auto wash mitt, sheepskin wash mitt
Microfiber Madness Incredimitt / Incredisponge

Despite the fact that I prefer the first one, Microfiber Madness products are less care-intensive (they are machine washed every single time - CarPro's merino is taken care by hand, needs to be combed from time to time, etc) and that can be a deciding factor for some.

Meguiars wash mitts are great value for money and perform really well. I like to use 3 mitts in a wash so there are less rinse bucket trips I have to bend for.

I use the sea sponge on the body and a black-onyx-micro-chenille-wash-mitt on the wheels .....

For rinseless, I like Duragloss Wash Mitts but have some Meg's mitts too.

Why not use the garry dean wash method instead?
Yeah, it is synonymous to that... More than three mitts means more washing-the-mitts as well and I do that by hand, so 3 is a sweet spot for me. 1 of these 3 is strictly for lower areas.

I think i need to start doing that with at least 1 strictly for the lower section and maybe the rear.

thanks for the good idea.

The pile on the Meg's mitt is too low and I feel doesn't leave much room to pick up surface film and contamination. Have to rinse this one a lot more

^ i've never had a problem with the megs mf wash mitt, the pile (not too short nor too long) hasn't bothered me or had any negative effects on it's performance. great wash mitt for the price and lasts for a good while...

strands get caught on badging. Not a fan. Like the CarPro Merino Wool 2 finger mitt.

i have lots of badges on my cars, particularly my C, and don't have that experience. when i get near a badge i take the last third of the mitt and just lightly "scrub" all around the badge, to get into the angles and grooves. it's not a real scrub but its short movements at different angles. no real pressure other than what's required to keep the media in the area i'm cleaning. i think doing regular wholesale passes with a mitt past edges and badges might be your issue, but i dunno. i am thinking back to how i do it and if i do anything that isn't particular to a sharp edge or badge, i'm doing it "away" from the edge. hard to explain.

Anyone still use a ShMITT these days? I remember the lovefest with these wash mitts years ago. But they've fallen out of favor these days I guess. I know mine has sat in the bottom of a box of detailing supplies for some time now.

In order: MM IncrediPad, Lowes grout sponge, PBMG chenille mitt. The only thing that occasionally bugs about the IncrediPad is the fibers occasionally catch on sharp trim corners and pull free so I have to be super-careful with them. But wow are they great to wash with.

I rarely throw out older mitts. I tend to use the color system, keeping a darker colored mitt for rockers, valances, and wheels, and the MM or sponge for the good stuff.
