Mike's IBook

No Tony, doesn't open.
I downloaded another book and it works fine.
I'm just going to order the hard copy.

Weird though,I can delete any book except Mike's book, it won't let me delete it nor download it again.
It was purchased.
Thanks again for the help guys.
You may need to contact Apple tech support. CarMomma had a problem with her iPad downloading some movies when she has to go to Chicago for business from time to time.

It acted exactly like yours is acting except it was a movie (2 actually at separate times). Something about a cold boot of the iPad and then connecting to a different wifi signal than the one that she had been trying and she ended up getting it.

They had actually credited her account for it though. And they may also be able to give you a direct link that's different than the one you used in the store (they did her).

Sure would be easy if all the books were available on DVD! Jus' sayin'. : dunno:

When I am not obsessively clicking the refresh button on the Autogeek apps I am actually handling tech issues for a school. Here might be a way I can give back 👍.

I need some information to start.

Is this on an iPhone/iPad/computer (iBook is an application on the computer as well.)
What version of the OS/iOS is running?
What version of iTunes?

Have you tried connecting directly to the computer and purchasing and downloading it from within iTunes/iBook application?

What error messages do you get if any?

If on the computer have you tried on a new user account?

Just reading a bit of the earlier posts so have some answers to the questions but still some are outstanding.

Another one is if you have any other iCloud devices - can you download it on another device?

I would highly recommend the iBook version of the "The Complete Guide to a Show Car Shine". I like the fact that the iBook is interactive and you can watch videos, enlarge pictures and click on links that will take you to AG Forum articles.

The book contains a lot of very good basic information that every detailer should know. I think that when we are not getting the results we desire, a lot of times it can be attributed to getting away from the basics.

IPad 2
Ver. 7.1
I never tried downloading on my PC and not sure what version of ITunes I have.
It starts to download, I see the little wheel on top left spinning, nothing else running, I left it downloading all night, when I woke up this morning still downloading, no errors.
So, I bought another book which I liked and it downloaded without any issues.

I tried this,
Logged out of ITunes , removed the IBook app, reinstalled then signed back in and set to automatically download IBooks.
That didn't help either.

Thanks for any help.
Kevin

I only have one ICloud device, my IPad.

Can you tell me how much space is available? You can go to Settings:General:about and it is under available.

You mentioned this was a gift - was it purchased with a gift code or purchased with your own funds?

I have 5GB of free space.
I was given $25.00 cash as the gift to buy the book, I used my account to pay for it.

Well this is a good one. Unfortunately my next step would be to have you try it on another device or computer.

Do you sync with the PC at all or do you manage the iPad solely on the iPad itself? Is there any reason you might be holding off on installing the later iOS?

I think Apple probably will have you do something a bit drastic like do a full reset on the iPad, reinstall your apps and see if it works. They also might be able to credit you for the purchase at least.

It is 1.67GB which is a fairly large iBook file. I am still not convinced the size is not playing a part in the issue. I will download it myself and see what I can see on this end since I have a similar setup.

Do you know how to take a screenshot on the iPad? You press the power and home button simultaneously. This should then put it in your camera roll which you can then insert it into the post. Can you post the images you are seeing when in iBooks or other places where the process seems to get stalled up?

Yes, I know how to take a screen shot.
I'll take one when I get back from my shop later today

The first picture is before I tap download ,second picture is it actually downloaded,or appears to be.

I've tried a few times.

Thanks,Kevin

The second picture is actually the very beginning of the download. The thin line around the circle is the progress bar which gets thicker as it is downloaded. Once it downloads then it shows the word open or nothing at all but opens. Now what you are saying is you leave it at this screen for a really long time and the thin line never gets thicker?

Something ain't right with your second pic. I deleted mine from my iPad - and am re-downloading it to see it it works. You see the circle all the way to the right, as it downloads - the circle gets thicker.

Here is mine partially downloaded.

I can't delete it being it doesn't download.
The circle stays thin, even after hours and hours.
