I'm passionate about car care and detailing - I have to be, with as much time as I spend engulfed in this career/hobby/obsession of mine.

It's hard to keep a secret when you're so close to something, and you simply cannot wait for its unveil. Spilling the beans is a way of releasing built-up energy and excitement - the kind that makes you feel like you're going to burst - even if you find yourself regretting it shortly after. That's what happened to me this morning...but only for a minute.

Anyway, on to the meat and potatoes of this thread. The other day I received a phone call from a customer looking for a cost-effective, high-quality, clean-anything all purpose cleaner. Obviously we have several options available, but the last thing I wanted is for this customer to regret their purchase two weeks later because something new and better came out. I let him in on a little secret. The customer willingly agreed to wait a couple weeks; he was sworn to secrecy about what I told him, or so I thought.

Between 10 pm last night and 8 am this morning, I received 17 personal messages, 3 text messages (seriously, who's giving out my personal phone number?) and 4 emails regarding this new mystery product. At first I was filled with frustration - how could this person betray me and tell others what I told him in confidence? The feeling of frustration quickly faded, because his actions are no different than my own - I spilled the beans to him, and he did so to others. No harm no foul, friend.

Before the rumors get out of hand, here's what's going to happen:
Within the next couple weeks we will be releasing an all-new APC, available exclusively in a gallon, that will absolutely knock your socks off. The price is going to be competitive with other offerings in this segment, and the formula superior to anything else available. I've been working on this project for about a year now, and the feedback I've gathered from detailers that I know and trust has been nothing short of outstanding. This will be a product of PBMG, and I'm sure most of you can guess which line it will be in.

All kidding aside, can't wait. PBMG makes top notch products!!

Now I am waiting for that liquid wax you guys are making!!!!....LOL If you do make one I am in!! This is for all the waxing by DA surveys!! Of course complete speculation!! I know you have Pinnacle....how about Black Label?
 
Can't wait.. will have to postpone a current 5 gal apc purchase I have planned.

I just hope the price is reasonable... no matter how good it is I can't stomach more than $15 - $20 a gallon for apc.
 
This sounds like a perfect time for a 'contest' or 'give away'.... Hint !! Nick.....

The price will be competitive, however I will make it clear right now that this product will NOT be $15 a gallon. At that price point we simply can't make it as good as we want.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with products in that price range, so if you like them by all means keep using them. When you're ready to try something a little better, you'll have a superior alternative at a price that's not going to hurt the wallet.

Folks, New does not always mean better. Let some of the folks that get hung up in having the newest products to hit the market. sit back time will tell.
All this hype does nothing for the product but increase sales.
If what your using works, why change?
We been using APC for years and it works just fine. Whatever brand you like.
Something new with a increased price... does not mean better and if better how bang for the buck?

Find something you like and use it often

That's something you'll see posted here a lot, and for good reason. We have a product for every detailer, car wax enthusiast, and weekend warrior - at every price point imaginable. The intent of this thread isn't to make everyone go out to their garage and dumb their current APC down the drain, it's to inform you that a new product is on its way; a product that will, like I said, knock your socks off.

I could simply say..."I don't care what you buy, so long as you buy it from us"...but I'm hugely passionate about surface care enhancement, and I know you guys are too (why else would you be here?), so of course I'm going to (enthusiastically) recommend a better product when the option is there; no pressure, no sales pitch, just information. I've never had anyone call me back and complain that I recommended a better product to them, and I've spoken to A LOT of you guys (and gals!).

Keep using what you know and love by all means, but when you're ready to try something better...:xyxthumbs:
 
Cool, Then simply release the product without the hype. Plain & simple.
If its better some customers will buy it.

You don't have to like or agree with the hype (that's optional :dblthumb2:), but you will love the product very much. That's something everyone that tries it will agree on. :xyxthumbs:
 
Cleans as good or better than OPC and cost less than $19.95 a gallon. Hmmmm, new Meguiars D103???
 
I personally love the introduction of new products. Having said that, i don't fall prey to hype in so much as having to try every single new product released. I will admit to falling prey to what others say on this forum about certain products and products that fit within a category i am looking for. I have for many years tried all sorts of APC's and am still looking for my magic bullet APC that i will keep re ordering. This new announcement from Nick is something i am anticipating favorably. But like every other new product i have tried, i will evaluate how well it works for me.

Only because a confidence was breached did this discussion start. The rumor is out and effectively substantiated. I am one who simply appreciates the heads up on a product that hits me right in the wheelhouse. I will patiently wait for its release and the timing for me sounds just about right...i may have about a month's worth of my Megs APC left and will be ready to order something. This will probably be it.
 
I need a new all purpose cleaner. I will wait to see what's new and how much it will be. Introductory price with free shipping?
 
When a company releases a new product, there should be hype. How, as a reasonable person, could you expect otherwise?
Personally, I think the hype makes it more interesting. I'm hoping it's Wolfgang brand. Pinnacle would be cool too.
