What is your Favorite Coating

Got a box of VX Pro2 sitting on my desk. Scheduled to go on a VW Golf R in a couple weeks. I will likely do a test panel this weekend to get a feel for it.

I do like 22PLE and PBL. Duragloss strictly for the value, just does not seem to get quite the same performance as some others.

Nice! Let us know how it goes!

At first I saw the price of PBL coating and thought it was really expensive but didn't realize that it comes with enough product for multiple cars. How many cars have you guys been able to coat with the standard size bottle?

It it a good enough coating for DD, and do any of you have experience with the booster or the PBL coating shampoo?

You wil find a lot of us have a preference on coatings. There are a ton of good ones. The new BlackFire coating is easy to use and gaining a lot of popularity. Optimums Gloss-Coat is Also easy to use and folks really like it. CQuartz is also very popular but a tad harder to apply.

If I was looking to just do my family of daily driver cars I would look at the Blackfire coating. You can get 3-4 cars out of a bottle and it is priced reasonably. Use the Blackfire shampoo or rinseless wash and call it a day.

C1+ExoV2 is killer! I'v used them all and this is the best combo I've come up with.

In comparison to the others you have tried, why do you like C1 and EVO combo?

First of all, cool your from grand forks! My grandpa lives in grand forks and I've spent every summer as a kid in that town! Second, How do you feel the Gtechniq C1 and EXO compare to the CQUK/reload in shine and durability? Noticeable difference? Do you use the same microfiber suede to put on/remove like the CQUK? Thanks!

CQuartz UK is my favorite. I've never seen such outstanding gloss. It's pretty wild.

That is a very bold claim:
Max Protect?
Echelon?
G'Zox?
ArtDeShine?
SiRamik?
Gyeon?
TAC System?
Kamikaze?
Nanolex?
almost all of the above offer multiple coatings and that isn't a comprehensive list even if you add Optimum, Carpro/CQuartz and GTechniq.

The hydrophobic properties of C1 + EXO is more than CQUK. To me there is a noticeable difference in good with C1 + EXO over CQUK.

Don't get me wrong CQUK is a great coating and I offer it but the C1 +EXO is better is all aspects. I'll take a photo of my car tomorrow.

My favorite coating is one that does not etch so easily from water spots.

I don't think one exists.

To have to top a coating with another coating imo is the marketing gods next achievement. Might be ok for your personal car, but you're not going to make a living doing that. I've noticed more and more coating manufacturers are coming out with coating top coats.. Which is another coating they can sell you to protect the underlying coating. Very clever but that's where I draw the line. Enough already.

That is how I am starting to feel too. I am not enjoying it when a customer contacts me after 4-5 months complaining about the build up water spots. Might as well just use the topper and pass on the coating. Most of these toppers are as good or better than the polymer sealants out there.

One coating manufacturer has several coatings for example, all highly regarded. Two are "base" coatings...and a third is called a "top coat" ...now guess what that's for? If coatings are so darn good, then why the need to buy a second top coating to protect the underlying coating? We're not fools...with coatings being all the rage now...the marketing machines are going into hyper drive to convince detailers the need to use coatings like it were wax.

It also needs to be clarified between pro & consumer coatings. There are a ton of great coatings, but unless your a pro not all of us can get them.

Personally love Gloss Coat and it's my fav right now. Although, I want to try out this new stuff HD by beeds, anyone have any experience with it or know anything about. I've seen some pretty rave reviews online about it.

Sacrificial layer. None of the coatings are permanent.

Sorta like cquartz topped with reload to give the coating more life so to speak. Or mere maintenance.

I don't have an issue with companies producing multiple coatings and coating toppers. They vary by look, by ease of application, by longevity, by hardness, by water behavior, etc. Anyone waiting for a coating that is all things to all people is going to be waiting a very long time. I do, however, have issues with companies making bogus claims about thickness or other measurable aspects and with those companies claiming, or at least strongly suggesting, that the R&D and manufacturing is done in-house when, in fact, they are simply marketing and distribution shells buying the technology from a separate company.

Thanks! I have and maintain a lot of black vehicles and am always wondering if I'm using the best stuff. To me gloss and depth is my main requirements. I've used opti but didn't like it as much as the CQUK, I've been pretty faithful to CQUK. I also have a bunch of the microfiber suede towels and applicators, are those recommended with the C1/Evo combo as well? Im the MAN

I willing to accept coating on my DD.
will polish it off whenever necessary :D
For ease of application, I would skip the coating and use topper(booster) as standalone.
