So I finally got a chance to see the video and pictures of the product with pads and chemicals and it looks like a pretty good machine. Like the Rupes, it comes in 15mm and 21mm throws. Anyone else looking at their new DA polisher? I'm trying to step up from the Porter Cable 7424XP and this looks like a good option vs the Torq I was considering.

Looks like a great machine. Reviews so far from Detailers who used it pre-release are excellent. More power. Lifetime warranty. Win !!!!

Now the decision is if I want to get the 15mm or 21mm throw lol.

It's a 2yr warranty. The lifetime warranty is only againsts defects and there are exclusions.

The lifetime warranty on the GG 6 is no different--it's against defects in workmanship or parts. Griot's customer service has been excellent and there are many post on AG and other forums of how Griots replaced a problematic GG 6 with not questions asked.

I tried to find the warranty info of the gg6 and could not find it on AG nor GGs website so I couldnt compare them. If thats the case, then cool.

My concern was that I own things with "lifetime warranties" and when you call they are like "sorry thats not covered"....infuriating!

I accidently had a towel wrap up in my GG6 when "cleaning a pad on the fly" which snapped the shaft on the backing plate in half. Sent it to Griot's & they sent me a brand new one! Mine was around a year old at the time.

Warranty info is under their Customer Service tab......really is pretty much lifetime for defects , but does not cover normal wear and tear from use (duh) :buffing:

Griots has been outstanding with their warranty and customer service since day one. I would expect nothing less with these units.

The throw of a Rupes and the amps and wattage of a Flex- the best of both worlds. The only issue I see is the rpm or opm which is low, something common with long throw DA's.

So would y'all suggest going with the flex DA as an upgrade to the PC 7424XP?

no comparison, you are comparing two different animals. when the flex first came out years ago (since then nobody has copied it to my knowledge) it didn't have the option for different backing plates like they do now and you can run 4"-6.5" pads to pretty much cover most all your detailing needs. it's a beast...

That's why I was saying do y'all suggest I upgrade from the PC to the Flex. If I'm gonna spend a good chunk of change, I want it to be on the right product.

if it were me, I would personally go with the flex DA over the others right now. it's more versatile with the different backing plate & pads and their won't be a stalling issue if that bothers you. so many great choices out there these days, just got to find what you personally like and are comfortable with... :dblthumb2:

I'm looking for a product that's going to be able to achieve the most minimal work to the hardcore jobs. A tool that has enough power to do a good thorough job.

If you're on a budget the Megs MT300 is a great machine. I've had mine a little over a week and have done my '15 Sierra and '14 RAM plus four customers vehicles. I'm using the Megs thin pads and it's been correcting anything I throw at it. I wouldn't upgrade to the FLEX unless my 300 doesn't last and I don't see it quiting on me anytime soon. I am going to buy a 15mm long through just to have one and to maybe use on larger panels like hood and roof.

Any chance this would be avaliable in 240v for us here living in australia.

Oh yea, the previous owner kept immaculate service history...just not so much with the detailing lol. Hoping this will be a one and done with the flex, microfiber pad, and menzerna fg400
