Hi gang

New here but have bought products from here before. Just picked up the Blackfire Crystal coating kit and hope to find time soon to give it a try.

I'm just an OCD weekend warrior.

Welcome!! You'll love the Blackfire coating!

Please post pics of your ZL1!

Thanks for the welcomes.

Here are a few pics from varoius road trips.

Welcome to AutoGeekOnline!

I just completed a review on the new BlackFire paint coating.

Here is a few videos and photoshoot.

I have read the review and it is very well written. The ZL1 is coated with Gtechniq C1 and Exo. The Blackfire will go on the wife's car and my truck. Have you found a water-less or rinse-less wash to work well with the Blackfire?? I have ONR and Ultima + at the moment. I will need a few weeks to get to the Blackfire as I need to correct the two vehicles and it is freaking smoking hot here in CA, not to mention I'm always working or busy burning gas on my time off. Thanks

Yes in the Sac area. I will take a look at the Megs D114 as well. I think I will do the hood on the wifes car this weekend and try the ultima and onr to see how it reacts.

If it works well I will use up the product and give the megs a try. If does not work well, I will use the product up on my company car, and get the megs for the coated cars.

I used Adams water-less on the Exo and it was ok but had to be gone over to remove wax or whatever they add to it. The ZL just collects mainly garage dust and almost never gets dirty enough go the 2 bucket route. I have yet to try Ultima, or ONR on it yet.

Thanks for your feedback.

Yeah hella hot!!! I like 114 because it doesn't leave anything behind. ONR and Ultima may. My inlaws live in Sac, not sure when I'll be making a trip but if I do I'll bring you sample of 114 - have a gallon of the stuff...

Sounds like a great product to try on the Exo as well. I will provide some feedback as soon as I can on how the onr and ultima work on both coatings. Thanks for your offer on the Sample.

The challenge is using the rinseless in the heat. If you experience streaking, may have to dilute a little more than recommended...

Copy that, I only work in the am or pm when it has cooled down, I will keep that in mind because cooled down can mean 75 to 80 in the peak of summer unless I get up at 4am to wash lol.

Thanks for the tip.

That's why I live in the bay lol

You are not kidding there. I grew up in Healdsburg..... wish I was still there. I do work in the Bay area often and it is much cooler.

I grew up in Sac - don't miss the heat. You have one bad ass ride!

Thanks the Zl1 is a great drivers car, and I take it out as often as I can. I have some mods in the future to include a low lash solid roller cam, 10% over on the supercharger, ID850 injectors, and ported SC snout. This is usually good for about 650+at the wheels if you have good fuel. I bought it for a weekend coast run car, and track days. Last run was out to Ft Bragg, about 10 hours behind the wheel including Hwy 1, and 20. This thing just eats up the road.
