Birthday pics, they're 6 years old today, according to the web that would make them 46 in human years. Took these shots on our 3.5 mile walk this morning, and we'll do another 2 miles tonight. Right now Ziva's asleep next to me on the sofa, and Buster's asleep at my feet, twitching like he's chasing something in a dream.

Now that we have broken the ice and brought a new pup into the house I am going to be on the lookout for a Heeler pup, there is just something about the way they look at you that gets under your skin

Hard to explain

That's a lot of miles. Ours would be pretty sleepy after half that.

The puppies can be pretty stinking cute.

You guys know from my previous posts that sometimes we see kangaroos on our walks. This video shows why you don't let your dogs off the lead when roos are around, they don't like to be messed with, this dog was in danger from the back legs ripping him up. This one looks like an average sized male, they do get bigger and stronger than this.

We got caught in the rain on this morning's walk. They don't mind too much, but they love it when the towels come out when we get home.

Had a scare last week.

Apparently, my meathead, Sage had ingested a ton of weed material that she couldn’t digest. It caused a total blockage of her intestines, and she was vomiting everything she tried to eat.

Emergency surgery found this:

After coming home from four days in the hospital:

She’s back to normal now. Vet said it would have killed most other dogs…
But not this meathead. Lol

Glad everything worked out, although I bet it wasn't cheap. Give her a pat for me, tell her she's a good girl.

Had a scare myself this morning, Ziva walked right over a snake. It was on the path but I didn't see it because it was on the dividing line between the shade and sun. None of us saw it till it slithered away. I think it was a Marsh Snake, they are mildly venomous, but I'm pretty certain it didn't bite her, she didn't yelp, and wasn't licking anywhere afterwards like she does with a green ant bite. But I have been watching her ever since.

Holy Crap, Dave! I can't imagine that kind of worry. No venomous snakes here on Long Island.

And the Vet care was actually as cheap as could be. My wife has worked for our local Vet for 22 years. All of the work was done "pro bono". :D

She knew if she had passed your wussy ass couldn’t handle it so she “manned” up for you.

All jokes aside I’m glad she’s OK and doing well.

I do one of these each year as a gift, The 12-months of Faych................

A bit warm here today. Buster made it known he wanted to come into the AC. Ziva happily stayed outside, she doesn't feel the heat the same way Buster does.

Not really my pet, but it does live in the tree in front of my house. I believe it is a Garden Orb Weaver, you have to watch out for these guys if you go for a walk as it's getting dark, they like to build these webs across open spaces. I've walked through these webs a couple of times and ended up with them on me, they don't bite, usually.

Naughty girl, but, my fault really, I didn't put it back in my storage tub after letting it dry. It's pretty old anyway. I last used it on the single stage paint on the roof of the FJ. Luckily she wasn't eating it, just pulling it apart, I think she was trying to find out how many pieces of foam there are in a polishing pad.
