So one night a while back for a BBQ dinner I was cooking I invited over my mom and the G/F moms for a nice meal together. Well needles to say it was a nice evening out and I eat really quickly. After eating I snuk away from the dinner table and worked my way out to the driveway where I saw my baby, I mean my truck needed a little TLC. We all know the feeling she was calling for a quick wash and I couldn't resist. Like I said I eat quick and by the time both moms and the G/F would be done id be allmost drying off my pride and joy, (At least in my head) so I made it to about 3/4 of the way through a 2 bucket wash . Then all of a sudden I had this strange feeling, something wasnt right. I look back at the front door of the house and there is my mom, the G/F and her mom peering at me with a foul look of disapproval. My G/F shouts are you kidding me you need to take it easy with that Truck Love. (Imagine that a woman jealous of a vehicle )All three of them storm back into the house. It was a long awkward evening to say the least. Three ladies pissed at me. Worst part was all I could do was finish the rest really quickly and the do a rinse with no drying or putting away my supplies till the next day. The nerve of them you should have seen the water spots the next day. So anyone else ever been in trouble for detailing before?

LOL Man I feel for you!! Having women giving you stink eye is not a good thing!! There are a couple of things I do that will not get me in trouble. I usually wash my ride at around 6:30am - 6:45am in the morning. I know my GF is sleeping! My garage is set up to where I have plenty of lighting and I can do at least a rinseless wash.

So far or til this day I have not had any limbs broken or the stink eye you got....but you got 3 times the stink eye!! I betcha you were scared! I would be too!

So the bottom line NO at least not yet!!

Seek Help, 1-800-Addicted to Detailing.

Or be prepared to be a lonely man with nothing to love but your truck

There's always the tail pipe!!

You invited them over for dinner what you did in any civilized community was pretty rude.

Their is a time and place for everything and that wasn't the time or place to wash your truck.

I'm going to have to side with the ladies on this one.

Man, I get in trouble all the time for detailing.

The wife is jealous of the time it takes me away from her and the kids. I say that they can get involved if they like! (My 3 year old daughter actually does quite a bit.)

I do the early morning start too, figuring "oh well, she's asleep anyway" (the wife). But then she gets upset that we never get to spend mornings in bed or wake up together etc (since I get up early to go to work during the week). So I can't win!

I feel like I always need to sneak away and/or be on a time limit to detail.

But hey, I'm used to it now and I make it work. I'm ok about getting in trouble, it's unfortunately just the way some women are! :)

I gave up on that 15 years ago when I had my 3 year old daughter helping me and turned away for a minute and came back and she was running a trigger sprayer, the sprayer part to be exact in huge circular motions all over the side of my metallic red truck, OUCH!!

And what you refer to is totally different than inviting some people over and bailing on them to go wash your vehicle, sorry but just saying, that's just rude. My wife would kick my butt if I did that. And I'd deserve it. And she always helps me wash and detail her car, she does her fair share to be sure.

Here's a prime example to the opposite. Three years ago we drove to my Dad's in NC for Thanksgiving. My wife, step mom and daughter went out shopping and I polished/showed my dad how to detail their car. We planned that time out to coincide with the time we had together. However I did not walk out on them after dinner to do it. LOL.

Doh!

Man, that sucks. I'm always keeping a very close eye on her!

You're lucky! Mine enjoys driving a clean, shiny car but doesn't want to give me the time to get it that way!

It was hilarious and heart breaking at the same time, but hey, it was my dear little daughter, what more can you say. No more triggers! LOL.

:autowash: = :argue:

I love detailing, but there are things I defiantly put above it...like spending a morning in bed with my wife!

You said it. Their is a time and place for everything.

PS: I've been happily married to a most amazing woman for 24 years. :D

Lol , they have to pass there posts by the boss first for approval aka at home moderator !

So do they call you master like Jeannie did to Tony in I Dream of Jeannie. :urtheman:

I too think you were in trouble for good reason. You invited them over and then ditched them. NOT COOL. You could have washed the car prior or after. TISK TISK TISK TISK
