Car Pro Essence Reviewed! 6 Months of Testing by OCDetail

Just ordered some Essence and their gloss pad. I plan on compounding with D300 and MF pads. Do I need to add a step between compound and Essence?

Thanks,
Newb

No need for that extra step, you can go straight form the compound step to essence.

Hi guys, thank you for all the kind words! Editing the video as we speak and ill cover pad clean up as well! LOL@Hillary joke! Good job Sir!

My Essence comes in Wednesday. I'm working on a 2002 Vette which I'm holding to use it on first. I'd love to see your video before I get it. Any idea of when you'll be publishing it?

I'm not trying to start anything, but Corey mentioned that he could not be certain that eraser would not be needed after "some polishes," especially those that are "oily." Just what I heard from him...

As with any new product, I'm sure we'll find some good and not-so-good surprises as it gets into the hands of more people.

There have already been some hints that application may be tricky in some cases. That's one big reason I can't wait for Joe's video.

I'll be interested to see how it performs for me on badly oxidized single stage paint in a couple weeks.

i ordered a bottle to see if it can babysit my newborn AND get the mail. jury is still out until i get my hands on it.

ha! nah, seems pretty neat. interested in details like abrasive type. a lot of all in ones with protection have chemical cleaners and a compromise for protection, which is understandable. this sounds like it has a more robust abrasive package AND protection package that is leftover.

again, neat idea.

Hi guys still working on video. BUSY after SEMA. @Audios I woulsnt even attempt to use this on badly oxidized single stage thats not whats it for at all. The abrasives in here are the same thing that is in reflect polish. Which is not even close to strong enough to remove oxidation. Thanks have video up so as I can

Yes you are right about oily polishes.

I should have been more clear. The intent is to compound and then finish with Essence, but I will be doing a test spot with just Essence on a DMC to see what can be achieved.

Reflect moved bad oxidation off my blue 75 hornet with a boss orange pad.. about the same as 3d adapt..just less glossy

Does this alter the application of Cquartz?

Make it easier or harder?

Adjust the wipe-off times with varying temperature/humidity levels?

I haven't used it with regular Cquartz but with Finest it did make application easier

I have a 9 month old and am lucky if I have gotten to do 9 hand washes. I feel ur Paine

So, this may be a dumb question, or answered already, but can I correct a car using FG400, 105, etc..... Then use the Car Pro Essence as a polishing step, then coat? How does Essence compare to 4000, or HD polish? What benefit is this over those products? In other words give me a reason to buy this. Lol

Yeah. It uses the same abrasives as Reflect, except it primes the surface for a coating application/lays down a base of protection which looks like it will negate the need for IPA/Eraser wipedown.

Saves a big step with the wipedown prior to coating by essentially combining it with the final polishing step...

Used this stuff for the first time today. Pretty impressive.
