Who washes their brand new microfibers? I ordered some on the sale and my girl got me some for Christmas. She also got me a gallon of microfiber wash. Should I wash all of them first or not necessary? Thanks in advance

I always wash, it helps get the initial lint rinsed and removed. I also like knowing that any dyes or foreign matter is washed out prior to use.

It's recommended to wash them first. The first was or two some of the dye will come off.

If you got a few different colors I'd recommend washing them separately unless you don't care about dye transfer/discoloration.

I always give new towels a quick wash before I store them away. Less lint and better peace of mind.

its usually a good idea to wash them first to remove any loose material and debris/contamination from when they were made, and in transit to both the supplier and then you...

Always wash and dry them first, it's just what I've always done! While I'm thinking about it, pick up some 3D towel kleen...you'll thank me later 👍

For those who doesn't own a dryer, any issue with leave them hang up until they dry?

I hang dry intentionally, got a drying rack, hang them in the garage to dry.

Remove tags. Vinegar soak any tricky colors (black, blue, red, etc.) in their color respective group. Wash in hot water setting (opens up the fibers) with dedicated microfiber detergent (some people like some simple & plain detergent). Dry on LOWEST heat setting (or perm press, lowest heat setting) or hang to dry. You don't want to get MF too hot - melts the plastic fibers. Recommend to NOT dry in garage, too mich risk of dirt. Fold 'em & pack in zip-top bag or plastic snap lid box / tub.

Of course, never use fabric softner!

Hope that helps!

Do you guys wash your MF towels separately? For example, the ones you separate for certain jobs. Wax/buffing separate from dirtier type jobs, engine, wheel cleaning, waterless/rinsless towels that pick up all the dirt vs buffing towels. Hope this makes sense.

I soak my Rinseless towels in a 5 gal bucket as I'm doing a Rinseless wash with 1oz of Micro Restore. Do a quick hand wash then wash all towels together. I use cheap towels for wheels and engines and throw them away.

Never ever mix those towels.

Good idea on prewashing the MF towels that you use for rinseless/waterless wash. I can't afford to throw away towels. I would wash the really dirty ones with my dirty work clothes and and use them as rags for when I work on the car mechanically. But I would try to reuse some of the dirty ones again for the same job as often as I could if they were not too bad before they went into my rag pile.
