My buddy has a 2004 Corvette with blue stripes on it...just wondering what a good product is to polish them? They look dull, water spotty, etc.

Clay and wax or sealant of choice.

So how would you get water spots out and make the stripes look new again? I wouldn't think a wax would do much for that?

A soft (white) cloth, that has been
pre-dampened, by spraying it with
Mothers Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner.

Has anyone tried the McKees vinyl cleaner and conditioner? It an RV item, but it might work on stripes.

Might just work...:xyxthumbs:
Gotta give a try sometime!

Decals are decals;
Vinyl is vinyl.

I have clayed and polished numerous vinyl decals/stripes on company vehicles and also a handful of corvettes with no issues. Compounding stay away from.

If you use a traditional clay bar, be aware it can get caught up on the edges. I use Nanoskin auto scrub so it's not an issue.

The only reason I was even in a Chevy dealership was to pick up my new company car, pronounced MAL IH BOO. There were 11 corvettes in the showroom with the most ill applied stripes on them. ie) wrinkles, dirt nibs underneath, etc. Those vinyl decals needed yanked.

Hmm seems to be a lot of conflicting opinions on what you can and can't use.

When in doubt, go with Bob(aka FUNX650). He seems to be a very knowledgeable man!
