What did you do today non-detailing related?

Honestly they could have come from anywhere around here

There’s still a lot of farming/ranching going on in this area

Animal control was trying to catch them and couldn’t but they pushed them further away

The development I’m in was too hilly for farmland but ok for a housing development

We all have acre to acre and a half lots and there is enough variety in the terrain so it doesn’t look like suburbia

On the other side of the dirt road on the back of the house is a huge bison ranch

We've got farmland surrounding our neighbourhood, with a walking track right on the edge, as per my video. Last year a few cows got out and were wandering around people's front yards, and because we'd had some heavy rain recently they left hoof marks about 4 inches deep in their lawns. Some people didn't know the cattle had been out, they just found the holes in their lawns, there were a few confused questions on the local FB page.

On the theme of views of rural homes, my sister recently sent me this picture a neighbor took with his drone. Told her it's nice be so secluded and private . . . except from that neighbor with a drone!

After 11 straight days of rain we had a sunny day and I got a chance to finally mow the lawn

I filled 6 bags with clippings

So do you have a garden waste bin, or do you have to dispose of it some other way?

We get a garden waste bin (green lid), it gets emptied every second week, alternating with our recycling bin.

No, this area doesn’t have anything but regular trash bins, not even recycling bins, although we have a 96 gallon bin for just two people and I am usually able to get the bag and a half to two bags of clippings in the bin if I want although I prefer not to if I can help it

We can take it to the dump and they have a huge mound that they compost as best they can

Composting isn’t very efficient up here although it can be done

We get 3 bins, general waste, recycling, and garden. Usually all 240 litres(63 gallons), but bigger families can request a 360 litre (95g) recycling bin, and my neighbour has 2 garden waste bins as they are a larger corner block and have a lot more lawn to mow. General waste gets emptied every week, the others alternate. We don't even half fill our general waste bin, and because I use the mulching attachment on my mower I haven't put the garden waste bin out for a few months.

My mower has a built in mulching system but the grass gets too tall to mulch unless I cut it every 3-4 days and this summer I’ve been lucky to get it cut weekly

There are 6 varieties of grass seed in the mix they used and the Fescue came in first and strongest but now the Blue Grass is filling in and dominating in places and that stuff grows like crazy

It will be 6”-7” tall in a week and was 8”-9” tall in places after all that rain

This picture is kind of hard to see but it’s a cut today, which is 3” to 3 1/2” and you can see how tall the uncut grass is

It holds on to so much moisture too and I can barely lift those half full 50 gallon trash bags full of clippings

That is some nice, lush grass.

Kinda miss a big, green lawn but sure don’t miss taking care of it…life is full of trade-offs I guess.

Really haven’t had much rain lately; no real need to wash the cars in the last 2 weeks.

I've tried taking comparison shots like this during our summer, when the lawn is thick and fast growing, it looks good, but not as good as that. I think Deyon will appreciate that shot.

Got to install new Ely hose reel. Easy step by step instructions. Added MTM QD to quickly interchange GH nozzles. This reel is built like a tank. Love how easy it is to reel in continental hose. So much easier to work with than the big box plastic versions plus zero leaks .
Yes it is $$$ but has a 10 year warranty. Was able to wait for a 15% off promo plus N/C shipping.

In the semi-detailing department

Our younger son and two of his dogs just visited and the dogs had an hour long romp throughout the house with our dog

I just finished cleaning the living room furniture with Megs Quick Detailer and a Kirkland microfiber following the dog slobber fest

I wiped down my treadmill with Meg's QID since it was quite dusty.

Now I’m grilling dogs

Yum

Ditto, I mowed the front, now I'm eating lunch, a nice ham, cheese, tomato sandwich, with a neenish tart a treat. The back lawn can wait till later.
