3D ONE HYBRID COMPOUND & POLISH in one Ask us anything!

3D One will be officially for sale here on Autogeek September 17th. ONE is a compound and polish in one. That doesn't mean that it is wimpy, it has as good a cut as most straight compounds. With the polishing finish, it is truly amazing the way that ONE polishes, even better than a lot of straight polishes that are available out there.

If you have tried 3D ACA compound and polish, you have some idea what to expect from the 3D ONE. It is not a compound that breaks down to become a finer polish. It is a fully formed chemical that can fulfill most all of your correction needs - as a professional or as a car lover.

The 3D One is available in 16 oz and 32 oz bottles. You will want to also pick up some wax, because unlike HD speed or AAT 505 correction glaze, the one has no wax protection built in.

Is HD one similar to HD Adapt? As I understand adapt breaks down to form a finer polish as it's used. Would One have more or less cut than Adapt?

The key feature of the ONE is that you can change the type of correction by changing the foam pad that you use on your polisher, or you can even use a wool pad to really get in there and cut out the section you are working on. At the other extreme, you could correct light marring with a soft foam pad. This is kinda handy these days with all sorts of paint finishes featured on vehicles. One is a good option if you already have a specific sealant selected to apply and you just want to correct the surface first before applying a ceramic or any other type of protective coating.

3D ONE has a more aggressive cut than Adapt. The abrasive particles do not break down to form the polishing component, it has all the elements already, so it cuts clean and "cold" without creating a lot of heat.

Sounds like I'm going to have to give it a try as I'm reach the end of the bottle of HD Adapt, which has been my go to for one steps.

It does not have fillers. Most of the fillers that are in HD SPEED or AAT 505 are a part of the protective element. For the 3D ONE, there is no wax or protective feature, so no fillers are needed.

Wow, you still have Adapt! that is amazing. Did you have a large stash, or did you find a good place to get it after it was discontinued?

Bought some in June from the Canadian store. I'm not sure if they have any left, but a 32oz bottle of One should last me a while

It is similar in principle to UNO and ADAPT, but not at all the same from a chemical standpoint. It is most similar to 3D ACA 500 compound and 520 polish. The abrasive technology has changed a lot and gotten better.

Keep your questions coming! While we're taking this offline for the rest of today, we will be answering all questions LIVE tomorrow at 12pm PDT/3pm EDT on our Facebook and Instagram!

How does the cut compare to HD Cut + if both were used with the same pad?

Here's a question. "Who are you?" You're new to the forum it appears, with no introduction of yourself.

So its like Meguiars #86?,just change out the pad for desired cut,in case I missed it what's the price?
