Hopefully nobody thought I've given up on my subaru, I've been doing rinseless washes weekly in the garage and using D156 in between to keep things going.

Well, after some recent rain and a lot of dirt, I decided to strip it down and renew the base later.

2BM with Chemical guys strip wash in the bucket and foam gun. Left me with NO BEADING at all.

Washed it down then dried in the garage. My drying towel (adams) went in the trash, I saw a couple scratches as it made them. Finished drying with my eagle edgeless towels. Polished the scratches out by hand with a little megs UP and a hydrotech blue hand applicator.

Layed down a coat of collinite 915 on a yellow foam applicator followed with some D156 spray wax. Still need to hit the trim and tires. I'll be using stoners on the tires, not sure on trim. Have been using 303, hate it.

Here it sits before I attack the interior.

This is a better pic with the tires dressed.
I didnt do the wheel wells, in a month I am going to strip the car, polish, wax, pull the wheels and wax, and fluid film the underside in preparation for winter.

I'm going to do 2 coats of collinite 476 wax on the car and wheels, and likely WG trim sealant for the plastic bits.

Did a bit of highway driving yesterday and had a few bugs on the front and the wheels were a bit dirty so foamed the wheels and tires with Brake Buster and sprayed down the wheel wells with 3D orange degreaser.

RW with Ech2o and dried with a Gyeon Silk dryer. Also used Opti Seal as a drying aid today and used Sonax BSD 1•1 to do a final wipe on the wheels.

Side note did my first longer highway drive in the GTI. Round trip just over 100 miles and got (according to the computer so realistically it's probably less than what it says) 35.3 MPG. Keep it out of boost and it gets good mileage.

bfielder^^^^^ thinks he had some bugs. LOL.

So, this is my company car which I don't really care about and I've collected about a week's worth of the famous Florida love bugs. Car is never garaged and these suckers get baked in.

Just a little before and after.

Thankfully, around here, I’m only seeing them directly on the beach. Saw a swarm on a wooden gate this morning. I sure hope they go away soon.

I guess there is always a trade-off.

No love bugs here in NY, but...... I will be using a snowblower in a few weeks and hoping I don't slip and bust my a$$ on parking lot ice.

I’ll be in the city in December. I’m wondering if I’m going to experience a snow storm! It’s been almost 15 years since I lived in Jersey and the winters were getting bad again then.

Lol yeah I had about 5 bugs on the front bumper and probably another 5 on the windshield. Just from the night before so came off real easy.

Seems to be a bug theme going on

With a day off and no place to be I took the XR6 and Mustang out this morning for a bit of a drive. Caught a few bugs along the way so spent the afternoon getting them both back to my (too high) standards

My wife’s car got a winter prep. Wash, clay, Megs Ultimate Compound with a Megs polishing pad. LSP is Collinite 845. Please note, wheel wells were not scrubbed as we live off of a dirt road and have a lot of rain in the forecast. Tires were done with Griots Satin tire coating after I took the full car picture.

Looking forward to your review! Having that valve on there allows for no more pumping when you've got compressed air, wish I did but I get to maintain my "Popeye arms" because I have to like the Aerosmith album "Pump". Plus the other features are nice too!
