What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Turtle Wax Seal and Shine is a hands down winner! Turtle Wax has it on sale, 2 bottles for $19.00, 1 bottle is $12.00. At first I thought the TWSS would be phased out and replaced by Hybrid Solution but it's being reported its staying as the "middle of the road" product in their lineup. Now I'm not trying to start something but rather making an observation and it's this, why would you chose the "middle of the road" product when for a few bucks more could have their very best and even then, it's so inexpensive

I will be visiting the TW booth at the Chicagoland Auto Show this February and giving them my .02 cents worth about the great products they've dropped on us in the past year, also maybe get them to re-introduce their tire coating, minus the black dye, stay "tuned"

Good luck with that tire coating suggestion.
I emailed them months ago telling them the Endura Shine was missed and wondered if there was plans for anything similar be introduced.

About the only company I have contacted that didn't get back to me. After that, TW can get*%$#. I wont buy any of their substitute garbage.

How long ago was this?

Just lately.
Sorry about the rant. I don't have any patience for poor customer service.
No problem, I'm surprised they didn't get back with you on this. I say this because of the ground swell of positive responses they've surely recieved in recent months, wanna stay ontop of things. That said, you've gotta think about the human factor and besides, this is all new to them, not the business of making car care products but car care products us enthusiasts have embraced. Maybe drop them another email, I mean everyone can't be Griot's Garage

Roger dat!!

I feel like I just got a big squeezy hug

So I did a number of things this morning. First I went back down to the garage and applied a 3rd coat of OPT tire coating to the tires. Next I used up the leather conditioner I'm beta testing on the seats, steering wheel and shiftknob. I then used some 303 protectant wipes on all interior vinyl bits. Then onto the exterior, yeah, like it needed another coat of something but I did just that. Turtle Wax is in the air and I used the TW Ice spray wax, hadn't used it as of yet, so I did. This product looks like TWSS coming out of the bottle and spreads like it too, a real pleasure to use!

Now the car sits until tomorrow morning to head to work, where it's supposed to be rainy...ofcoarse I really wanted to get some additional layers on the car and curing as its supposed to be 50 today, so wanted to take advantage of that for sure

Got some time for my car today. Wolfgang waterless wash and then I realized I had some Sonax carnauba based spray wax left so I decided to layer on top of the UFF and wow. I am always topping sealants with carnauba products as long as I have black. There is a noticeable difference in reflective ness, clarity and shine.

My brother stopped by to visit and his Honda Accord was in major need for a quick detail..

So I hooked him up.
1st thing I did [after the wheels & tires] was hit it with DUB Wheel Cleaner and watched it bleed like a stuck pig!

Bucket Wash with Megs Hyper Wash, then gave the horizontal panels a quik clay with a Med. Grade Nanoskin Claymitt.. Finished it off with Beadmaker + cleaned up the beginning stage of yellow hazing that was occurring on the headlights by hand using Megs Plastx and a microfiber applicator.

They cleaned up like new and so did the plastic chrome trim using the Plastx.

Awesome job Eldo!! Really nice before and after too.

I’m really hoping you gave him the family discount and said, “Hermano, I’ll take care of your car, I only ask you buy me a few bottles of my favorite wheel and paint decon product, DUB!”

Can’t have too many left in your stock surely?

Ric, check out the Eagle One plasti-dip wheel cleaner, it has iron remover in it and is very inexpensive (I know I mentioned this to you before but it's worth repeating, LOL)

Thanks bud. I’m still not quite 100% though... I dunno I just haven’t gained the same zest or energy that I had pre car accident... I detailed an H2 Hummer last week and that turned out to be a major chore.

The client was happy with the results and wanted to bring me his Mercedes Benz sedan for a complete detail restoration inside & out and I had to respectfully decline, at least for the time being because I simply don’t have the energy to do it + show up and work my normal 9-5 job.

It sucks, but I ain’t breaking my back for no one... I haven’t even detailed my new Cadillac yet! I’ve had it well over a month and bearly got around to fully vacuuming the interior just yesterday. It’s weird, I dunno how to explain it.

Don't push it Ric, I mean you got T-bonedAs far as not breaking your back for noone, good mantra right now! Maybe Tony Montana should've added that to one of his infamous phrases..."All I got in this world is my balls and my word (and my back) and I don't break em' for noone"

You don't have to explain it, Ric.

You just need to know what you can and can't do.

Nobody here thinks anything different. The Caddy can wait until you feel better..... ;)

My intention was to do it completely free of charge... He’s my brother so of course there’s that, but a few months back I traveled to his house and detailed his Jeep Grand Cherokee and him and his wife were so happy with the results that they totally surprised me with the very gracious monetary tip which turned out to be way more than double what I was even asking for the for the whole deal...

They damn near made me shed a tear with their generosity that night. Ever since that day I’ve made sure to hook them up for the next couple times or more free of charge.

The gift of giving is true.

Is there a Geek in LA that can help Ric out

I could never allow anyone else to clean my car.. I need other people when it comes to changing the oil or fixing any and every mechanical problem that may arise... But when it comes to cleaning there’s no way it’ll ever happen as long as I’m still alive. Lol.

I’m pretty certain I’d be the guy outside detailing the car within minutes of the so called “detailer” finishing up on the car. Lol.

...Actually I’m 100% certain I would because in the past I would usually re clean the house and re vacuum the carpet if and when my ex gf decided to do it. If I had it my way she would’ve never had to clean [besides dishes, I hate washing dishes] or vacuum the house because I’m too OCD to not have it done my way.lol.

I completely understand your sentiments! Someone else clean my car? Over my dead body!

Ric...if I was local, could/would you make an exception
