What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Washed microfibers and then gave my car a bucket wash.
This sight never gets old.

Finally had a moment to clean the wife's car after our mountain trip. My wife is home for 2 weeks recovering from surgery so I figured it would stay clean for awhile, but I remembered it has to go to the dealer tomorrow and it is going to rain!🤦🏾#♂️

Is that shine Beadmaker? Nice

Indeed it is.. it’s the 1st time I’ve used Beadmaker on my car since polishing and sealing the paint on Jan 1st. Protection was still going strong but it was perfect time for a boost.

Today was one of those days where I just should have stayed in bed. I twas my day off, got up early to give my 2010 Audi A4 a compound/polish/wax before it got too warm out and just as I finished compounding half the car, my old Lake Country 5" backing plate decided to separate the top from the urethane section. I attempted a temp fix using thin CA glue and it held for about 10 minutes and came apart again. So i was then left with the choice of driving 15 miles to Chemical Guys for a new backing pad, or order one online with free next day shipping since it was already getting too late/hot to be polishing outdoors. Determined to finish it in the afternoon, i got in my car and with completely unprotected paint, set off to Santa Ana. Within 5 minutes some prick decided to wash his windshield in front of me, coating my car with water spots bumper to bumper. At this point... defeated... i turned around and picked up some lunch on the way home only, and once there discovered that McDonalds gave me fries that had been sitting in the warmer for who knows how long. *sigh*

The only highlight of the day was testing out my new DIY quick detailer, made from Wolfgangs Uber Rinseless Wash + distilled and it worked incredibly well. I can say without hesitation that i will not be buying pre-made quick detailer spray again. Works great with a clay bar too.

You should prime and paint those gypsum walls, otherwise they'll absorb moisture and you'll be in for a real headache later on.
Thank you. I didnt even think about that.

Took advantage of the Leap Year sale here and just placed an order!
I really needed some new items for when I do my spring cleaning!

Too bad the Flex Mini didn't apply or I would have pulled the trigger!

First time since we moved I've had time to wash the FJ, finally got to try out the Concours Purge wheel cleaner I bought before Christmas. Also discovered a scratch above the door handle, probably my fault, I did a few rubbish runs during the move, and sometimes I didn't take my gloves off when opening the door, I obviously had something stuck on it. Attacked with some Lime Prime, hey presto, gone. Overall pretty happy with how it looks, over 187000 km on it.

The mini or the pixie? Even when they had Flex in sale you couldn’t apply to the Mini or or the C beast as they are bot in stock

The SS went in for an oil change, tire rotation and a few items I wanted entered in the system as the B to B warranty expires Wednesday. It came home with a plethora of swirls, scratches and heartbreak. I totally brain farted on telling them no washing the car.

Since it was somewhat clean I washed the SS with Adam’s Rinseless Wash and the BRS. Next up was light clay bar cleaning with ONR as a lube. I broke out both the trusty PC for 3” pad work and 21 mm Adam’s Swirl Killer plus numerous polishing pads, Meguiar’s D300 & Adam’s Polish and got to work.

I then wiped all the panels down with GTechnic Panel wipe. I coated the car with some left over McKee’s Paint Coating and topped that with Adam’s Ceramic Boost.

Nice save, Paul.

Just incredibly insane what these dealers do to paint. :(
