What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I'm in central CT, so we're likely on the same schedule. Does it really usually last until mid-June? I haven't paid attention. It just seems terrible this year!

You're probably only 30-40 miles from me. (As the crow flies across the Sound) And yeah, it usually starts to wind down about mid-June. This season is unbelievably bad though, so I guess we will see........... :/

Mid-week pollen war...EN-1...pollen-nill (till tomorrow)

For today I used Bilt-Hamber Auto-foam (3 oz to 1 gallon distilled) to do a touchless wash as it was just pollen and dried up rain from overnight last night, roads dry to work this morning. I also used the leftover Bilt-Hamber Auto-foam to clean the rims and wheelwells too. Only needed 3 of 4 brushes to get the rims C L E A N

Dried the EN down with a Sucker and Gaunlet towel, designated mf towels for the tires and rims. Nothing applied to the tires, I think they still look good so let it ride ========

I have to say the beading was still really good, the Griot's Garage Poly Gloss held up to Bilt-Hamber Auto-foam...., must be my ratio because I'm using 3 oz now compared to 5-6 oz like I used during the winter on the ES but then again that was winter and this is spring, big difference between salt muck and pollen

I feel much better doing my pollen war wash over a RW, no matter how much encapsulating a quality RW or WW does, nothing is safer than pre-wash that breaks that pollen down, carries it away and ultimately rinsed away. Now I don't have a funny bow-tie, a degree in whatever or decades of experience detailing but my rationalization here makes sense and I do have a degree from the University of Common Sense, it was online but who's counting

Btw you guys have seen all that wood, our steps and porches have been redone and I think the guys did a great job. They're coming back Friday to clean up all the debris and the landlord said he's going to stain the wood himself to help protect his investment. In a couple weeks the lot is going to be re-sealed and new lines painted on, really going to look good

We are basically on the exact same line of latitude (if that makes a difference!) so according to PaulMys it might be mid-June. Which sucks.

A few days ago it looked like it was literally snowing with the fluff that was flying around. I don't know what it is, or where it comes from, but it happens once a year and collects in corners and looks like a bunch of snow. Trash!

In the NW that stuff is from cotton wood trees

Rained overnight so I got to work early and wiped it down with Griot's Garage Ceramic Speed Shine, can't have water spots w/dried up dust and pollen sitting there when I'm off of work later, right

The pollen is terrible here in SE MI as well.

My wife thinks I'm crazy because I do similar things. You are definitely a few steps ahead of me though. I've gotten so used to perfectly clean and clear glass that if I'm ever in someone else's car I'd rather roll the window down instead of looking at water spots LOL

The CQUK I had on the windshield I believe has, at this point, mostly failed. It lasted a little over 1.5 years.

Time to re-apply!!

Got a good wash in after I got the truck dirty from off-roading a bit.

Man I love those Colorado ZR2's. And greys are one of the best color to me.

Thoughts on that Stjarnagloss? I was just looking at Glatt today but do have their glaze seal (Glasyr) and spray seal (Parla) sitting here to use. I was intrigued by the idea of the glaze with protection as well as the ability to add additional protection while staying within the brand.

After having family over for Mum's birthday lunch, I decided to give the FJ a quick wash, so I get to drive it clean to work this week, at least till it rains again. It wasn't too bad so just went with ONR, even on the wheels, but only after doing everything else. I'm not touching the tyres, maybe next time. Dryed using Bowden's After Glow.

I had washed the car only to be a victim of an isolated passing shower...which happened to pass right over only my car.

The first real chance to wipe it down was late at night...so you should have seen my neighbor's reaction when he pulled in at 12:11am after his shift (he's a police officer) and saw me out there in the dark using my cell phone light to clean windows!

So there was no FNW, instead it's a peaceful, Sunday morning, so the EN gets one of its famous touchless washes

I started with a mix of 3 oz of Bilt-Hamber Auto-foam and 2 oz of TWHS Slick and Slide Pure Wash, surely the and can work together on my car...and they did! Used my Griot's Garage foam gun and as usual produced lots of wet but foamy suds. I let that dwell, since it was overcast and about 61 degrees and turned my attention to the tires & wheels.

For this I felt like "a little extra" was needed, especially on the tires since they hadn't been scrubbed in the last couple washes, just a swipe to remove the water after rinsing. I'm glad I did because it didn't take long for the TWHS Hyper Foam Tire and Wheel cleaner to start pulling B R O W N out of the tires, such a GREAT product here, glad I bought the jug refill size All 4 brushes used and the short brissel tire brush scrubbed up all that brown especially, rinsed away to a clean and beading look.

I dried the EN with the Big Blue drying towel, anyone remember those After using free flowing water to wash away the water beading this towel laughed at what it had to dry! I used those new Griot's Garage glass towels (thanks for the suggestion Crack) and their Ceramic Glass cleaner on all exterior windows. Finished drying with a smaller, plush mf towel and those dedicated tire & wheel mf towels to finish things off.

I also added a red starter button to the EN, it's an over lay but is anodized aluminum and looks pretty cool, ties in with the red NGS button on the steering wheel

Got an hour drive to pick up my daughter, so atleast it's clean for the rest of the day. Need to vac out the interior but it's 9 a.m. and I'm trying to be a nice neighbor
