What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

After many days of neglect, I decided to do something about it

I opted for a Gyeon ECO wash and I couldn't have been happier, just love this product, infact its my 2024 Product of the Year (which means ZERO)

It had lots of water spots and stains on it, washed off easily and left my paint glossy as hell, although it's currently wearing a coat of Nv Lustre and when pre-treating each section the beading was CRAZY

How's the beading with Eco Wash? I may finally get around to using it this weekend so I'm interested to see how it beads water on an unprotected vehicle.

It's hard to tell because of how impressive Nv Lustre is to be honest

Did a little Oberk rinseless, headed to Camaro Superfest tomorrow. My dog decided to make an appearance lol.

Didn’t do a detail due to not much time lately. That’s ok, my main focus is to drive it more and worry about detailing later.

I gave the FJ's interior a tidy up. Carpro Perl at 5:1 on the dash, centre console, and doors, just sprayed onto a small MF and wiped on. I do like Perl's scent, and it applies easily, and dries very even.

For the steering wheel I used Meg's Motorcycle Leather Cleaner and Conditioner, great longevity and of course, non-slip, very important.

When you run out give Koch Chemie Rapid a try…

I got a gas powered pressure out after several years in storage and got it going in anticipation of cleaning my Gator. I had drained all fuel out for storage so started up immediately. It noticed the label said made in USA so old.

Hey Dave, why do you have a walkie-talkie propped on your dash, if you don't mind me asking?

EDIT: While you've got me studying this picture, I may have thought about this before, but since most of the population is right-handed, doesn't this present a problem in right-hand drive countries, forcing people to shift their (manual?) transmission with their non-dominant hand? I notice the ignition is on the right side of the steering wheel, just like left-hand drive. I'm supposing you're thinking you can't imagine shifting with your right hand, while I'm here wondering how bad I'd be trying to shift a MT with my left.

It's a UHF CB, I've had a few CBs in my vehicles over the years, this is the first hand held I've had, what it lacks in range it makes up for in versatility, I can take it out and carry it with me if I go bush walking. It is handy for tuning in to the truckers if there's something happening on the road, traffic jam or an accident, they always know what's up.

Here's the thing about having the gear shift on the left, I'm left handed, so it feels natural, but I'd probably be screwed if I got in to a left hand drive vehicle. All my vehicles have had the indicator stalk on the right, but I had a Volvo XC70 for a weekend once and that had it on the left, and I didn't get it wrong once. I guess being a lefty I'm a little more ambidextrous than the average righty.

Ha, that's interesting, we have the indicator stalk on the left here in the US. I'm a little ambidextrous also, I guess probably if I had grown up in a country with right-hand drive I would have been fine, and let's face it, everyone is, obviously. It's just that in a world that sometimes seems very skewed to right-handed people, it just struck me this morning as odd that people are forced to row through a MT pattern with their non-dominant hand.

I vaguely think I might have asked you about the CB before after hearing your answer, CB's were very popular here in the 70's (see Smokey and the Bandit), but faded out quickly after that. Maybe the truckers here still use them, but hard to imagine many other people with the cell phone traffic apps these days (caveat being I live in a densely populated state, I imagine it may be different in Australia, at least in the less-dense areas).

Just met with “students” and showed them how to do a hybrid wash with Frostbite and Eco Wash to get a deep clean on cars yet be more efficient. Here’s my take on Eco Wash.

It’s an easy product to use and is just as good as any other RW that I’ve used. The end result is a little better in my opinion. I didn’t take any pictures but you can definitely tell there is some SiO2 in it. It leaves a nice gloss and there is a noticeable slickness. There’s a mix of water beading and sheeting so I’d put it on par with using Gyeon Ceramic Detailer on a car with no protection which is an apt description for this car. Typical tunnel wash victim. It will definitely bet added to the arsenal as my preferred RW which sucks because I just bought a gallon of DIY rinseless.

Decided to use the rest of the Gyeon Eco Wash in my sprayer on my car to see how I like it. It definitely leaves some SiO2 behind. You can clearly see the streaks with my color of paint. If you’re using this in the sun it would be best to go panel by panel but it does wipe away effortlessly. There’s definitely a boost to the gloss and the surface is slick. I like it. It’s my new go to rinseless wash.

The glow and color of your car is amazing.

That color is stunning! :dblthumb2:

I'm right-handed and have two cars with manual gearboxes, one a daily driver and one a garage queen. I do vaguely remember it being a little strange when I was learning to drive, but other than that, shifting gears with my left hand is completely natural.

Thinking back to my warehouse job, the forklifts we drove had the levers (all 4 of them) on the right, and I was fine with them. I had no problem using 2 levers at the same time, they were close together, so up and out, out and tilt, and side shifting while bringing the load down were a common thing, all while steering and driving along. I probably wouldn't have had as much of an issue with a gear shifter on the right as I thought. It has been a couple of years since I've driven one though.

The first RHD car I drove on the road was a MINI, a late 60's model and a 61' and I just got in and shifted with my left hand like using my right hand, your brain overrides all
