Hi guys!

In this week's video, I give you a 10-month ceramic coating update so we can evaluate its durability and I also submit the coating to a chemical torture test! I applied CarPro CQuartz UK 3.0 topped by CarPro Gliss last year, so in this video you'll see how it stood up to the test of time and to the elements.

I also answer a popular question: how do you remove a ceramic coating when it comes towards the end of its life cycle?

Enjoy the video!

In English:

In French:

Did you use any maintenance type products during the time this coating combination has been on the paint?

Of course. I would maintain the coating with CarPro Eraser at the beginning, and when I discovered Bead Maker, I switched to Bead Maker. However, in the past month or two, I haven't applied any toppers and before the video, I did another decon pre-wash using Optimum Power Clean to remove left over traces of those toppers.

I have had much experience with CQUK Edition (the version prior to UK 3.0) and that one too easily lasted 2 years on my previous BMW.

I've not ventured into coatings yet....the one you used....how would you rate it as far of ease of application...and do you think it would be a good first coating for a newbie?

You also mentioned you applied Gliss.....does that only get applied when you do the coating itself?

BTW....thanks for the video

Help me get this straight...

Initially:
A Coating was applied over a Coating.

Since then:
There have been three (3) various
products used for “maintenance”.

As such:
Which one of the initially applied Coatings
is this 10 month update actually about?

TIA.

Bob

Since when did sheeting become more important than beading?
I’d love to see you try and prove that.
I challenge you to do a long term 50/50 on a vehicle.

Hold on...my microwave is beeping, popcorn is ready

Wait you maintain with Carpro Eraser? I thought Eraser is the pre coating prep wipe? Perhaps a typo?

How many miles on car since applied? Is the car garaged? Driven through snow or salt?

How many times was another non washing product applied?

Heheh, no that was a mistake. Should have been RELOAD. Thanks for pointing that out.

The car was driven 10,000km and is a daily driver. I stopped using toppers about two months prior to this video, and did a pre-wash with Optimum Power Clean before the video to make sure any topper residue (if any) was removed...

But again, despite any efforts I put in, some will always find a way to complain and criticize. I'm open to constructive criticism, just not sarcasm and negativity (or trolling) that some other users here (not you so far) are showing.

Correction made, process explained and we're talking about a well established paint coating here, what's not to believe again

Thank you for your answers! Did you have any issues with water spotting?

3.0 gets phenomenal reviews, seems to be great for the price!

Giss is/was applied to help out with this

Oops I forgot, too sensitive to ask any questions in this thread... Any question that can’t be answered by referring to a product description is quickly labeled “hate”.

You would think you’d have enough courage or experience to put together some sort of reply, but I guess not. I mean you say you make alot of vids, you should therefore have tons of pics to help show others what you’re talking about? Or are you really this defensive whenever someone asks about something you made a post about?

I just got some spray butter but what exact question are you looking to get an answer to, maybe others that read all this can chime in and help out. Our forum has always been geared to help out, so let's take specific questions about detailing 1 by 1 and get them answered for yah

I wouldn't go that far. With that light colored paint, haze isn't going to be clearly evident. Try that same combo on black paint and it won't finish like a foam polishing pad.

Challenge accepted. I’ve got a black car lined up this week.

There’s a perfect example.^
There’s no need to curl up in a ball... It’s just guys talking. No offense given or taken.

Sheeting is more important in areas with hard water because of water spotting, makes sense, right. As far as a long term, 50/50 test, well, the long term has been taken care of already, it's been 10 monthes. Considering he lives in Montreal and has driven the car through the winter, durability has already been tested, I think we can agree to that, right?

A 50/50 test, comparing it to what? That's a brand new M550i, I wouldn't use a nice ride like that for a 50/50 test, no reason to because I'd wanna use the very best on it, this isn't some hottie here, LOL.

I think Pan will be able to explain this better than I can but this is just how I see this, not sure why the animosity here again

You don’t have to hold his hand bro...

As far as my question: What has lead him to so definitely believe that sheeting is more important than beading and since he spends alot of time documenting footage about detailing does he happen to have any pics or video to help support the claim he made in his video.

Whenever anyone on this forum asks me a question I’m more than willing to engage and provide a highly detailed reply with pics from my experience to support my beliefs and more importantly help anyone who’s interested in the answer to their question, am I not?

Once again, you don’t have to hold anyone’s hand.... I was asking him, not you. What’s up?
