In the grand scheme of things, its nothing special, just a Ford Falcon............................ but its
special to me and my story. They made so many of them that its not worth much despite the low milage and condition, compounded by it not being the Turbo. Thing is, its worth more to me sitting in the garage than the money I would get from selling it.
This is why I love Sensation Blue, the contrast between sun and shade...........................................
I once had a colleague tell me they spotted the car down town, he knew it was mine because of how it was glowing in the sun. I couldn't help but smile like a proud father.
If its not a V8, the inline 6 is my favorite engine layout. There is just something about the smooth, deep tone of a inline 6.
I love the staggered lights on the FG Falcon. The main beams are the inboard elements, teamed with the fog lamps it gives this angry facade.
Apparently the rear taillamp design on the FG was modeled on a Falcon's curved beak.
Mine has the rare Streetwise Blue cloth interior, most of them had black cloth or black leather. I wanted cloth over leather purely for the color it adds to the interior and how it matched blue dials and blue backlighting of the gauges, buttons and infotainment screen, not to mention the exterior color. There was also a red and grey version of the Streetwise cloth trim, but all three were deleted in 2010 to cut costs, leaving black as the only option.
Something I have noticed over the years interacting with you guys in the USA and Canada, you seem to almost always be more interested in my blue XR6 over the red supercharged XR8. I do wonder why that is so, perhaps it's because the 2008 FG-Series Falcon XR6 had a totally unique look to it compared to the wider Ford lineup across the world. Those "double dip" headlights and gaping grill give it a signature look. The FGX Falcon XR8 that came in 2014 took on the then current Ford design language at the front, which in turn made it look like a Taurus/Mondeo/Fusion. Or perhaps the Barra engine?
