BUT... I will.:D
So what do you think of Palin as McCain's running mate? She is from Alaska, and I admit I have never heard of her!
Who is Sarah Palin? Let us know if you know.... at this point I have no clue who I would vote for!

And more importantly, why is Obama kissing his running mates wife all the time!

:righton:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMqrc3k4kPQ&feature=related]YouTube - Why does Barack Obama keep french kissing Jill Biden?[/video]

I looks like Biden is making out with Michelle. I would never think of kissing someone on the lips to say hello. Cheek yes, lips no.

I guess we all need to watch the Republican Convention to find out more about her. Yeah, I wondered about the kissing on the lips also.

Well either way this country is gonna have a huge first!

I hate to say it but McCain for the win I think. There's a lot less rednecks that think a woman can't do the job, then there are prejudice rednecks that think a "black muslim" (even though he's not muslim), can't do the job. It saddens me that there are that many bigots in our country.

And no matter who wins, we're still screwed. They'd have to be in there 8 years, and get full working cooperation of congress and the Supreme Court to get anything done. And well lets face it. Not gonna happen.

nrengle,

As a Georgia "redneck", I think that Kay Hutchinson of Texas might have been a better choice but Condie Rice would have been my pick. She has too much baggage now after being with GB this long but I still like her views on the world.

By the way, I am an over 50, life member of the NRA, conservative white male from the rural south

All of my associates and friends have the same opinion. Yep, we are all prejudiced.......Pro American

Hey Meghan.............I just placed a order, will I be included for the giveaway? Please excuse me if you find this redundant..but I just wanna be included...lol.........have a great weekend

Wow, Meghan you are quite the rebel starting such a thread on a Detailing Forum, I love it.

I too am a Republican and Life member of the NRA, View attachment 3304

My oldest son served 4 years active duty in the Marine Corps and two tours in Iraq. My wife and I have concealed weapons permits for the last 13 years. I am not thrilled with either candidate, I can not figure out how Obama has gotten this far with absolutely no experience, I would honestly vote for whoever I thought was the most qualified no matter their origin, skin color or party affiliation.

Not a huge fan of McCain either but NOW that he picked Palin I feel somewhat better. Having been born in Anchorage Alaska, I know those Alaskans have a tough determined sprit. I would have loved to seen McCain pick Lieberman but that would have been too weird I suppose.
I recently received the following email with links of authenticity at the end, hope its okay to re-post here.

Whoever you vote for just PLEASE research all the facts as this has huge implications for us all. Thanks to all our Men and Women in uniform who sacrifice so much so that we can type things like this in America and not be arrested for it. God Bless America...

affect you? If you sell your home and make a

you are heading toward retirement and would like
to down-size your home or move into a retirement
community, 28% of the money you make from your

the income from their homes as part of their
retirement income.)

money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds,
college funds, life insurance, retirement

taxes.

NEW TAXES PROPOSED BY OBAMA

New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet.
New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already)
New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity)

Sorry Georgia. I don't include all southerner's as rednecks I should've made that clear. I see a redneck as a ignorant, prejudice, bigot. My dad, mother, soon to be father in-law are all rednecks, and they are born and bred in Ohio. I love my parents, but I think they need their eyes opened a little more. They all just see black, white, yellow, red; not human being. I see it as this: We all bleed red, and we all breath the same air, there is no color, only humanity. It took me a long time and a lot of drugs to realize that. Yes I was heavy into a lot of bad things, and you know what marijuana and pyschotropic's opened my mind and made me realize all this. But that's a whole different story.

Point is race and gender shouldn't be a issue, but it will be to certain people because they are too stuck in their ways to put aside what they've been taught and to look at the bigger picture.

As for you 300, do you have a problem with someone being for Gay marriage? I think it should be allowed. Who cares what someone does in the bedroom, or what have you. As long as they are not hurting or threatening you, I don't see a problem. I worked with many gay people, and never thought twice about it.

As for the rest of it, who cares, we all know that they can't keep half the promises they make. Call me disillusioned but when I was in Europe for the last presidential election, and voted absentee then find out that the absentee votes weren't counted, it really made me go, what's the point.

The popular vote doesn't matter. Who the people want in doesn't matter. It's whoever is the electorate that matters. And call me crazy but I have a sneaking suspicion it's not any of us on here. It's more the people that are already in power...

Ok stepping off my high horse now.

Nrengle,
Read the entire mail please, I meant no disrespect to anyone, I clearly state that this is a re-post. I didn't author it and clearly stated "I would honestly vote for whoever I thought was the most qualified no matter their origin, skin color or party affiliation." I do not agree however with your opinion that the popular vote doesn’t count, but hey lets just agree that we will not all always see eye to eye and still be friends. Cool?

Sounds good to me...

Gay marriage sparks some heat here. Ohio outright banned it I believe last year. It's one of those things that just like come on now, do we need to go that far. It's like banning smoking. I mean I love the fact that I don't go home smelling like a carton of smokes after a show, but still is it that necessary start regulating peoples lives down to that small of stuff?

First time post here, which somehow I feel should be about detailing or paint correction, but:

I like her as a choice, she refused the bridge to no where, and basically does not countenance ear marked pork barrel spending... She has proven this, McCain, Obana nor Biden can say that.

Plus I can't wait to see her and Joe B go after it in the debates, he is a tough debateor, but she is no patsy, should be better the McCain - Obama debates. Thank God we live in a place were can disagree politically but then meld out minds to find a better way to detail our ride.

Bill P.

Amen Bill,
I see you have been a member for some time, you really picked a hot topic for your first post. I debated for some time whether I should even respond, I don't need any enemies this late in life (48). I think I'll go back to the Waxing and detail subjects before someone throws a rock through my car window.:D

Don't worry, won't be me. I hate kids that do that! While at Aldi's today someone threw nacho cheese all over 3 different cars in the lot. Thank god it wasn't mine, otherwise I'd have a teenagers ass stuck to my foot!

O8 300C I wish I was as young as you... But nice to meet you. My middle daughter bought her first car (3 years out from college) a 2007 300.... Detailed it for her.

Take care

nrengle,
I was only teasing, knowing how everyone on this site really cares for thier cars AND their fellow detailers I know that would never be the case. This is a great forun and I truly enjoy making contact with so many great people who are so willing to offer their advice AND opinions.

Bill,
It's a pleasure as well. The 300s are nice cars, I wish her the best of luck with hers, only had mine for a couple of months and am really happy with it, my other toy is a 76 Vette, 300 is like a caddy compared to it.

nrengle,

No problem here, even though all of my family is from the TN,GA,AL corner of the world, I was born at Wright-Patt AFB near Dayton (Dad was a lifer). Others may have differing viewpoints from yours but you should never forget those that have gone before and those still serving to protect our right to have these discussions. Without them the USA would be another third world country.

The people around you may have different opinions, they may be prejudiced, they might agree with you or they could disagree with you. They still have the right to feel the way they do. I mostly agree with conservative views (VERY pro-gun, concealed carry and my daughters starting shooting when they were 4 years old) and some liberal viewpoints (pro choice).

Either way we need to celebrate the political process and the country we have and make the most of our government no matter who wins this election. Turn things into a positive and try to persuade others to your viewpoint. Remember that a liberal is just a conservative that has not been mugged yet…..:D

Right now it seems that everyone is questioning Palin's experience level but I guess that I look at if from a different angle. Most everyone complains about the way our government is run and 3 of the candidates are Senators that have helped CREATE it .

Is being completely outside of that a BAD thing????

By the way, 08 300C..... Are you a VCDL member? If not, you should check them out. They are a great group.

In my opinion that was a great post "08 300C". I make my decisions based on issues. I agree with you "nrengle" that sex and color shouldn't matter. I do however believe that a person can be against "gay marraige" and not be a bigot or prejudiced against rights for gay people. I beleive it is more a definition of what actually contitutes a marraige.

America is a great country with a history. No matter where you are from prejudice exist and always will, no exceptions. We have a great privilege and rights to voice our opinion and that is a beautiful thing. No matter which candidate gets elected Americas problems will not be fixed in 8 years. God bless America.
