would anyone have any interest in AG carrying the Lake Country 5.5" FLAT Pads (w/ recessed velcro from the edge and not low profile) as they already carry them in the 6.5" size? maybe with enough requests, they'll start carrying them (i particularly don't care for the CCS Pads) as they already have all the other pads they make LOL. let's discuss, yes or no?

I want to try flat pads. I'm new to machine polishing and only have experience with CCS 5.5" pads.

What's the difference between flat and CCS pads ?

That would be great to see but I have a funny feeling they might just be selling them soon.

The Lake Country flat pads are their original pads that have a flat face, ensuring complete/even contact with the paint surface.

The Lake Country CCS (Collapsed Cell Structure) pads have areas accross the face of the pad where the cell structure has been "collapsed", thus creating a pocket. This pocket is meant to house and release polish as the paint is being buffed. It also aids in cooling of the pad.

Someone please chime in if my above assessment is not accurate.

I personally would like to try the 5.5" flat pads for the DA, as I do not care for the CCS pads in this situation. I do have the hydrotech pads and like those, but have questions on their durability.

Since the pockets house the polish, would polishing a section take longer with CCS pad since the polish is diminishing little by little instead of all at once with a flat pad?

Yes, please carry flat...I like them SOO much better than CCS and one reason I dont get pads from AG anymore.

You are right. Flats also generate a bit more heat.

+1

I cant believe AG doesn't have these. All the other detail sites seem to carry these...why is Autogeek so behind the times?

I prefer flat pads, but am happy with 6.5" for my Flex. For people who have PC/Griot's etc DA's I would think the 5.5" flat pads would be a must for the arsenal. :xyxthumbs:

We now have the 5.5" Flat pads, we are just working on getting them up on the site. :xyxthumbs:
