I couldn't upload all the pics because imageshack wouldn't take a few that were too large. I'm not very computer savy so i'll just have to stick with these 5. As i mentioned in my other thread the paint isn't perfect but def much improved.

Polishing Process.
Flex 3401
M105 on Cyan HD pad
M205 on Burgundy HD pad
Sovereign

I spent about 4 hours on the car. Not to shabby for a newb.

Cheers.

Thats simply outstanding. You did very good job on it.

Nice work. 4 hours on that hard clear would seem like you'd barely scratch the surface. (pun intended)

If that isn't perfect I don't know what is. GREAT JOB!

Thank you for all the kind words. They are greatly appreciated. Maybe i'm just too critical of myself...but there still are hairline scratches in the paint and a little marring. I am thinking i might strip it next weekend and try hitting it with 105 on a tangerine HD pad followed by SIP on a white LC pad finished off with either 205 again or Nano on burgundy.

I would love to see what it looks like 100% perfect.

But then again...maybe i'm being too critical...

I've never technically been taught hands on how to do this. and every time i see a video online it seems the paint comes out PERFECT.

I want that :-).

Just remember you can't polish forever there is only so much you can remove before the clear becomes too thin to polish safely. Glazing in the iterim is a great way to hide minor defects.

Good call. I might hit it with some #7 next weekend if i don't have time to polish again. If that doesn't clean it up totally i'll look into getting some black hole.

Eventually i'm going to have to get a gauge to measure the clear.

Thanks.

Gauges that measure the separate layers are pricey suckers. :(

Thats what i hear....this was the first time i polished the car and i've had it 2 years. I figure if i can hold off another 2 i should be alright for a while. :xyxthumbs:

But i probably won't. lol

Sounds like you are a great candidate to attend the Mike Phillips 2 day detailing class.

For someone that's a newbee and not too computer savvy you've done a fabulous job at both!

The Vette simply looks great and the time spent was well worth it! :props:

Beautiful Vette and beautiful detailing job. One badass looking car !!!

Well I haven't seen it yet but I am told it is black and that it has 800 horse power and that the owner thinks it needs to be wet sanded so I assume there will be many pics involved in this detail.
