looking for a pure carnuba. as pure and high percentage as possible that doesnt cost thousands?
 
This is a common misconception, there is only a certain amount of carnauba that can go into a wax before it becomes unworkable. Carnauba in its raw state is very hard so to make a wax you must add solvents and oils to it. Because carnauba is so hard it is not realistic to have 75% or 100% carnauba in a wax. This is the marketing math of wax companies. If you see 100% carnauba what they are actually saying is that the wax contains 100% carnauba of the WAX CONTENT. I personally dont think there is a wax out there with over about 40% carnauba out of the whole wax not just the wax content and that is on the high end.

These are just some of my finding from when I created my own wax.

Don't get hung up on the wax percentage . Just find a quality wax that you like and use it.
 
Don't forget about the "hybrids" out there. They contain both man-made sealants, and natural Carnuba...sort of the best of both worlds. I find they are sometimes just what the doctor ordered, especially for a daily driver type car where the customer wants as much protection for (as little money as possible)...and yet maintain that waxy, wet look that is associated with carnuba.

But if you want some great carnuba waxes, you can't do much better than Adam's "Americana", or Chemical Guys "Pete's 53" Both are under $100. CGuys also has a product called "E-Zyme Natura" (for $275).

I'm not trying to be a smart ass but what's your reasoning behind the question?

If it's gloss and protection there are allot of sealants and waxes available through Autogeek that will provide both without breaking the bank.

Let me know what you're goals are and I'll see if I can make a suggestion or two.
 
Looking around,the only waxes I see giving a proper carnuba % is Swissvax.
 
The percentage of carnauba in a product is, honestly, meaningless.

Depending on the formula, a product has a "saturation" point of carnauba in its formula. Less than the saturation point, the product isn't as good as it could be. More than the saturation point provides no product benefit.

So, you could add more, but it wouldn't make the product better, but it would be a great marketing tool :).

The saturation point is different for every formula. Changing one component of the formula will change the saturation point.

So, saying a product has X% of carnauba really means nothing from a product standpoint as far as durability, gloss, or ease of use.

As others have said, % carnauba may not be the optimum characteristic of a wax. What are you trying to achieve?

Durability?
A certain look?
Ease of use (WOWO, WOWA), Spray, easy to apply, easy to remove, non-staining)
Best for a specific color of vehicle?
Paste vs liquid?
Hand application vs machine?
Consistency between lots?
Time between layers?
Set up time?
Availability from different vendors?
Bang for the buck?
Price per oz?
 
i like paste and im looking for that wet rreflection ive noticed carnuba has done best over every products i dont like polymers or sealents. ive tried so many products and at the end of the day i deffinantly love carnuba but now im ready to buy a better one and there are so many options. so yeah advice to whats great when you love what carnuba does would be great :) thanks for all chiming in.

You will probably find that what looks best to you may be different from another person.

So we understand your perspective, what carnauba products have you tried?
- Which ones did you like best?
- Which ones did you like least?

Does durability matter? Do you need it to perform throughout a snowy winter?
How often do you wax?
DD or garage queen?
What paint color is your vehicle(s)?
How much do you want to spend?
Do you use a detail spray? Which one(s)?
 
It seems to me that if you want the best shine and depth that would be souveran but be warned that it doesn't last long so be prepared to apply it often. If you want a great shine that lasts I would suggest Surf City Garage or Griots. Here's a little wildcard to throw in here. If you want an even wetter look you can go with Rt66 Hot Rod Wet Wax or CG Butter Wet Wax...decisions decisions.:dunno:
 
Well, just because of the name I think you should try P21S 100% Carnauba Wax. It's a great wax. A carnauba wax that is undeservedly overlooked, IMHO, is Harly Wax.

But as several folks have mentioned, the announced percentage of carnauba wax may be irrelevant to performance; indeed, it's difficult to even make sense of carnauba percentage claims. What does it mean when Zymol claims that its Solaris wax contains 79% carnauba? What measuring stick is being used?

From a 2005 PMA letter:

Modern folklore propagates the myth that increasing the Carnauba content of a wax will make the wax "better". This is marginally true at best. Increasing the Carnauba content up to a point (30 to 37%), will increase the waxes durability but will not affect the shine. If the Carnauba content is too high (40% or more), the result is a rock-hard, wax brick. You simply would not be able to apply it to a vehicle! Be wary of manufacturerers that claim high (40%+) wax contents. They are either lying or they include softer, cheaper waxes (beeswax, palm wax, paraffin) in their formula.

In the end, what is importance is performance, which means you either have to try out a specific wax yourself or rely on the testimony of others. My advice: don't worry about carnauba percentages. Research what waxes other folk are using and then try one. The world is your wax oyster. You have lots of good choices. so ive tried everything over the counter in liquid and paste form deff prefer paste. um seriousley no joke i know this will sound nuts a tub of KIT carnuba wax has not only given me the best look but feel also and ive tried so much stuff, everythihng mother , mags, 3m, duragloss, zaino, even pinnacle sourvine i think its called ive tried and nothing has worked as well as kit. i know polymers protect better but im more concerned with the shine. also incase anyone wonderng its been corrected clayed polished glazed ive taken care of it for years its just the love i have for carnuba i was thinking of getting a higher content because i know some have higher percentages. and its a light silvergm paint. silver metallic thanks for all your replies

Maybe your KIT wax is best for you?? Look for products that give you the characteristics that you want and enjoy! It's ok to find something that you like and stick with it. You only need to satisfy yourself!

We now know that you have a silver car. Do you wax every week or do you need something that lasts for many months.

I happen to like Wolfgang Fuzion on both light and dark colored cars. I'm surprised that you weren't impressed by Souverain paste as it is favorate amongst many on this site for its wet look. The guys consistently post that Pinnacle SIGII and Liquid Souverain are wonderful for light colored cars and Maxwax has its supporters as well. Others will swear by Dodo, Collinite and Poorboy's waxes.

Check the best waxes for silver and best waxes and sealants posts from the past month. Mike Phillips has a nice list of AG LSPs that should also help you identify the right wax for you too.

The wax portion of the formulation is 100% carnauba.

The highest carnauba formulations currently available are Vntage and Royale at 60 and 71% carnauba by volumn. A contaner of both will set you back ~ $11,000.
