Good starter wax...

any advice on a good wax for a beginner such as myself? i currently use NXT 2.0, but want something better. i've been looking at P21s %100 carnuba. is there anything better for around the same price or even cheaper?

I think if I was starting I might go with either of those pastes but if you prefer machine application then the liquid is great.

Theres a bunch of other great choices as well. Those were just the first 2 that popped in my head based on your question.
 
looking for looks? durabilty? or to help fill in swirls?

Thanks i'll look into this stuff also. i hear you on the NXT losing its shine after a few washes.

I just want a wax that will make my white paint POP. im finding it pretty hard to make white paint really stand out.
 
Pinnacle SSII or Liq Souveran for a white truck.. Wolfgang's deep gloss paint sealant would also be a nice choice. Love it on my wife's pearl white

Pinnacle Signature Series II Carnauba Paste Wax will give you a deep, wet finish will exceed your expectations. car wax, carnauba paste wax, pinnacle

Wolfgang Fzion Carnauba Polymer Estate Wax, carnauba car wax, show car wax, polymer wax, paste wax, Wolfgang German car care

P21S 100% Carnauba Wax is P21S's first car wax made with pure carnauba wax, no other waxes. P21S pure carnauba car wax, P21s car wax, P21S carnuba
 
You should just get the Fuzion and forget the other two. Apply it very thin (the way it should be done) and it will last a lot longer then you think as it takes very little per application.
 
I just recently applied the third coat of Finish Kare 1000p on our silver blue CR-V, and I have to say that I am very impressed. It gives a unique look. When they say it looks like a fresh layer of clearcoat has been added, they are right. White cars are notoriously difficult to make the paint pop or look special, but my guess is that 1000p might just do that for you. It's also economical and one of the most durable waxes/sealants you can buy on the market. One hint: after applying 1000p, don't make any snap judgments. It takes two to three days of curing time for the sealant take on that special look.

Ooooh! I'v got so many waxes and sealants already that I am certainly not looking but now you've got me interested! I'm making a note of this one.

I've been thinking about it too. Mark had it but traded it off I believe. I just reduced my stock but it's so addicting to try new things!
 
I live in snow country....Collinite 845 rules these parts. You'll be hard pressed to find anything that can beat it in terms of protection (electric companies coat their equipment with it and it works great on clear coat and marine applications), and also cost...and that's what its all about...and I've seen it on sale on some web sites for $12.00.

Don't get all tangled up in the better-known products. Buy some...you won't beleive how long it lasts...and if you are a sunny weather guy, even better. It has a great shine as well. This company has been around forever and you simply can't get a better bang for your buck in my view.
 
For light colored cars I'd suggest some opti seal or optimum car wax or both

For dark colored cars I'd suggest poorboy's natty blue (black,blue cars) or red (red cars)

They're not too expensive but will definitely give you a proper waxed look...They're also among the easiest to apply and should give you an opinion whether you'd like detailing or not
 
DP Policoat and/or Poorboys Natty Blue ... nice starting products.
