Occasionally they hit a lick

I wonder what History pays them? 25-50k an episode?

Last Summer I was on a Custom Harvesting crew, -We travel the country from Montana to Texas and back harvesting wheat- Anyway we had a film crew film us working for a week in hopes of selling a series pilot to The History Channel, and one of the questions that was asked is how much per episode?

About $500.00...and there was 10 of us on this crew so it comes to about 5K per episode....

And let me tell you, there is NOTHING more ANNOYING than having a camera and cameraperson shadowing your every move 12-18 hours a day!

And the rule of thumb for reality shows is that for every 4 minutes of footage that makes it to TV there is about 148 minutes that end up on the cutting room floor.

How amazing is that?

Summer, what's that? A show about wheat harvesting?!?! If there is a market for that...a reality show about CAR DETAILING has to be a winner. Who's going for it?? Flash?

I use to do commercials. It always amazed me how a 30 second commercial would take 12 hours to shoot. Plus, the Director you can always rest assured is a 1st class kook...everything was always so dramatic

I hope Mike and Frank have a good agent. They should be pulling 50k+ pr episode IMO

If I see History advertising a new series on farming, I will be sure to tune in

I have a face for Radio....believe me!

The producers we supposed to start pitching it around the first of the year but we haven't heard anything yet.....

But if I had a camera following me 24/7 I would go Bat #### crazy!!!

One of the producers was the Survivor winner from 2006. Really cool guy.

Maybe I am just out of touch with people who make too much darn money but if they have to pay them that much--PER EPISODE--what makes it so "cheap" to do a reality show? I know there is likely reduced writing staff, and no set design/construction, no special effects to speak of...but are you telling me if you had a sitcom with an unknown actor they would be pulling in more than $50K/episode??

Sheesh, if I was making that much I'd surely have given that guy more than $1K for the $5K Schwinn the other night...

Sometime last year I saw a show on TV (forget what channel) where a crew of those large John Deere harvester's traveled the country harvesting fields, like you said. I think the crew was mostly family members. Even the farmer's daughter ran the machines. I just thought it sounded similar to what you described.

Probally takes a week of filming just to make a 22 minute show. I would tell the producer you need 1k pr episode if the show is picked up

GL on getting signed :props:

Crisis in Egypt....

Seems like there is constant fighting everywhere at all times :help:

Alright well here is a little update for you boys.....History Channel HAS picked up the show and wants to start filming in June, which would be just about right for the start of Harvest season......although if they want to see the REAL exciting stuff.....translation: Getting ready for the season, which starts in March, THATS when they should start filming IMO.

If they could pull in the advertising dollars like The Pickers do, then yes, I would pay them 50k per

They didn't hold a gun to that dudes head. Matter of fact, they didn't even haggle if memory serves me

Cool deal. We now have a celebrity on board

Tell your Producer, there is a guy in Memphis that has an idea about a reality detailing show :dblthumb2:

I can see it already...here's a minivan...looks ok on the outside--what does the inside hold for Flash?? Next vehicle, what IS that odor?? Can our man Flash find it and destroy it? Can our super-detailer removes the swirls on that collector car in time for the big show? Will he breathe wheel cleaner fumes and be sidelined before his deadline? Will he get stiffed by the guy who haggled over price? So many episode possibilities...

Greetings

So, I dreamed I got T-Boned by a bob truck running a red light at a high rate of speed

Anyone know the meaning of this

Haven't had coffee yet so I'm not guessing, just saying good morning Flash!! Have a wonderful day!!!

A semi without a trailer hooked to it. They are very heavy even without the trailer. Look both ways before crossing.
