carpet cleaning?

I have a contractor strength 6.75HP vaccum. Get different attachments like the "claw" and the slim, long extension to get between seats, etc.

In the past I used the little green manchine and done all of the carpet. Now to save time I vaccum and use Folex for spots. Other products for cleaning spots Megs apc 4:1 and DG APC, all works great.

When you use folex do you guys scrub it with your fingers or use a brush?
Brush, I have this one, also use it on seats. OXO IMO is some of best detailing tools out there. AG has them on sale right now.

Darn right, Sparkie! There is no other brushes like OXO brushes. Have you tried their theel brush? I love all OXO products!
No! theel brush? Do you have a link for that brush?

Yes Yes Yes, I had one! Then JoJo ran off with it. I didn't see him do it, but I know he did! Good dog but sometimes he makes me so mad! It took me about a year to get that brush (long story), after a week of having it, It's gone.

Also when you guys apply the AA Tire foam do you use a brush to scrub the tires or do you just wipe it down with a rag.

Folex is great for spots and such. Yesterday I used some of the Wolfgang Carpet and Upholstery Restorer. I just misted it across the carpet and then gave it a good rub with a MF. I was amazed at how well it brought the color back to the carpet.

It didn't do as well as the Folex for tough spots but for bringing the life back it was great. It's smell is pretty tough but it went away quickly.

If only it were a little less expensive.

Glad you asked that question. Threw the kitchen sink at a grease spot on the drivers side matt and it took way too long. Used Woolite 6:1 ; Folex : scrubbing. Kept the matt ( mother-in- law ), and the next day used the same with a degreaser. Kept it again and used all the above plus DP Total Interior Cleaner, and high pressure hose nozzle, and Green Machine to get up the water. Looks almost like new but took too long. Don't know if different products or doing it three times did the trick.

Did you mean to post that here?

They were talking carpets.....

I went to my Home Depot last night and all they had was Folex Spot Remover.
I bought it and now I'm going to Lowes today to try and find the cleaner.

Anyone use the spot remover/eliminator?

I use Folex for naughty spots on the carpet that won't come off. For regular shampooing I use Woolite dilluted about 8:1. Works GREAT!!!

PS: drinking heavily already and it's only 6:35pm here in London!!!

My only problem with cleaning carpets (not mats) is getting all the soap out. Its impossible to do without one of those heat extractors. Is there a cleaner out there thats easy to get out, yet effective? Ive just been using some OTC stuff from Turtle Wax.

Ive got one of those brushes on my PC, works amazingly.

I just use a bottle of water to rinse then vac. I've realized to that you do not have to soak the carpet down with soap.

Just a little.

The best degreaser in the world IMO is Simple Green. Make sure it is diluted and spot treat the area then vacuum it up. Once vacuumed up then take a wet terry cloth towel and go back over the area (because Simple Green will attract more dirt) that is the only downside.

I've started using SG and love it. They now have a lemon scented APC which is new. Got it yesterday. Strong stuff.
