adams detail spray causing film

I seriously doubt that many here will have this product on their shelf, but I think its more about the application and/or conditions in which it was applied...than it is the product.
do you use optimum products? thats basically all i use because i have a local distributor here in town.
i bought some optimum off this site and loved it then found out it was local!!

optimum products are pretty legit. i like them. im sure that they have alot of gloss enhancer in it. especially polish and seal. then on top of that i would use adams? maybe thats the major issue here?

I'm sorry, the way you typed it made it seem like your car is so much better that maybe thats why it wasn't working. Sorry if I took it the wrong way.

For what it's worth, when I wipe down my own vehicle (my fiance corrects and waxes it) I only use Adams, and no matter what is on it already I have never had a problem with it. That being said, I always do it on a cool panel in the shade.
i always do my detailing in my garage. its hard to do it on a cool day here in texas when its usually above 85-100 after spring and before autumn. but last week was AWESOME, a cool 70-76 degrees that day. i did all my work in the garage and no panel was warm.
i do have an IR heat gun if i ever needed to get surface temps. (i have one for my other hobby)

so , i talked to adam himself. for about 15 min we chatted about everything and it turns out its just a case of products not getting along.

i told him i use 105, 205 and optimum products as my primary products, turns out this adams detail spray may just not get along with the other products.
he was saying that it would be like adding a drop of oil into water the way i am combining these products.

i like other adams products like their in and out spray. their interior cleaner is alright too if you dilute it quite a bit. its way strong.

Wait a minute, Adam personally said that his detail spray may not work with M105/M205 and Optimum? Are you using the detail spray to remove M105 or M205? How are you using his detail spray with Optimum products?

theres a few things you could do-email ashley and just send it in for a return, also you could trade it-i know alot of people love that product but sometimes the most heavily touted product does not work for us-so we move on-i myself like onr as a qd,some dont.but i do-fk is also another one

read my posts. i said i did. did you read what i said or are you just replying just to contribute to the thread. i went ahead and highlighted what i said in pink just to show you where i said i had already talked to adam's. actually on the first page i said i called them too. then i called a 2nd time and talked to adam himself..

make sure you read the whole thread before you make your reply:xyxthumbs:

So your rude too. Nice

really? i HAVE to explain it?

you dont NEED detail spray to remove 105, 205 or optimum polish and seal. all you do is wipe it off with a dry towel. unless it dries onto your paint and you must use more effort to remove it....

how am i using this detail spray with optimum products? thats a really lame question .... i use it the same way people would use any detail spray.. i used it the day after i buffed and polished my 3, and i wanted to remove stuff that had fallen on my car over night, after dusting it with the california duster.

im really not going to explain exactly how the detail spray would be used. its common sense. if you read previous replies to this thread, i've used it many ways. ive been using it for a year and tried so many different things its obvious that the products dont get along. and yes, adam himself did say it was very possible. optimum products may not get along with adams products. why is that surprising that one brand doesnt work with another? last year they were not acknowledging the issue, thankfully the 2nd time i went to them with an issue, they actually listened to me. which was today.

yeah , its already been returned to the local dealer as of about 30 min ago when he came by and i signed the form

i think if i didnt use so many other products that the adams detail would work for me. i couldnt move on because last year i didnt ask for a refund but instead i was asking for an answer which i never got. but i was only talking to dillan and ashly. but this time i talked to mario and then adam himself and finally got some where. like i said prior, last y ear they got scammed because of their 110% satisfaction guarantee. what happen? some one ordered ALOT of product and then asked for the 110% refund. it apparently happened about the same time i was complaining about their product as well. so i was treated not so nice.

but this time, i went to them complaining and they listened. i talked to adam and told him what products i was using and well, theres just to many gloss enhancers in my line up. one to many. adams detail spray being that one that just couldnt get along......

i am not telling people dont use adams detail spray. i didnt want to give it up. i loved the scent it had and i really liked the plastic spray bottle and i do like their other products as well.

problem identified, issue resolved, refund processed, product returned (the whole gallon of it)

im pretty much done with this thread. i have said enough, and the problem was answered finally by adam himself.

Ok you really need to put the computer up for the night and come back tomorrow. You are being extremely rude to people who have nothing to do with YOUR problem. You posted here to get help and advice (or did you just do it to start a fight?) so people reply and give their 2cents. That is what a forum is. Richard was being nice and just asking for clerification of what you said in one of your rants. You come back talking down to him? That is the definition of rude. As Mike says, "Push away from the keyboard" or something to that extent.

Listen lady, I know how to use a detail spray, I know how to use polishes and compounds, it appears you are having the problem not me. I asked those questions because I have never heard of anyone having problems using detail sprays just because they used M105 or M205 to polish a car. It just sounds really weird that someone would say their detail spray doesn't work after polishing a car with another brands polishes or compounds. You need to chill out. We are not attacking you, we are trying to figure out how YOU are messing up. Now I see why Adams wouldn't talk to you, now I see why your local distributor won't talk to you, now I see why people don't want to help you.

I'm out. Everyone else in this thread, best of luck to you with this person. She apparently doesn't want help. My apologies for even attempting to help you with this matter.

Aerocleanse, I apologize to you as well and even edited my response.

Richard doesn't know how to use detail spray!

For what it's worth, I never had problems using my sample of Adam's detail spray with Optimum products. I had a similar streaking problem to yours when I first used FK425 (due to the fact that it was drying before I wiped it off), and subsequently diluted it to make it easier to use.

hell ya im a fire cracker. i have been pushed around to much and been called a lier, i dont like that one bit.:props:

im really fun loving in person. but tick me off and im all arms!

thing that just pisses me off is the dealer kept saying "i've sold 15k worth of product in a year and your the only one who has complained"
well sir..... no one else must polish and seal their paint like i do? then follow it up with a detail spray with high gloss additives? idk

Sorry for your frustrtations. I just hope you don't get banned as I'm thoroughly enjoying reading your posts

Do your ears turn red when you get angry?

Oh, you didn't answer my questions either

I'll start of by saying I didn't read every single post here, just skimmed over them. It would be pretty much useless to follow every word. Anyway, rx7chick, have you given your "EXACT PROCESS", start to finish? I may have missed it if you did. It seemed to me your using the Adams Detail Spray following the polishing steps. Is that right?

i have used adams in the past and still do use some of there products, i also use a butt load of products from ag- i can say very easily that adams and ag BOTH have the best customer service there is-looks like a adams rep went to your house to make things rite with you-what else do you want?

I think she doesn't know how to polish a car properly

<<<< Gone to make popcorn :)

Did you really use Adams Detail Spray after your paint correction step? If you did, I can easily see how it would be blotchy as the pores of the paint are somewhat open.

Generally, a detail spray is used to "freshen up" the finish, removing light dust and making the car presentable without going through a complete washing and drying. Detail spray also leaves the finish slick and glossy.....

After correcting with the finish with Meguiar's M105 and M205 in my opinion is not the time to be using a detail spray of any kind. If I were to use anything after Meguiar's M205 it would be Isopropyl Alcohol or Mineral Spirits to remove residual oils and debris.

The most logical next step after Meguiar's M205 would be a sealant, something like Menzerna Power Lock. This provides a synthetic barrier leaving behind a glossy surface protecting it for months.

While not needed, I always apply a wax cover coat to add both depth and additional protection. Detail spray now comes into play after the sealant and wax

i have made this post before. and its been a year, and i am still having issues.....

its not me, how could it be, it happens on all our cars.

the paint surface is very refined, i use optimum polish and seal on my vehicles to keep them looking great. i use a flex buffer and LC buffing pads.

i have issues with adams detail spray causing this to happen on my paints surface

you may need to adjust or angle your screen to see this.

i have been treated like crap in the past for reporting this issue. apparently i am the "ONLY ONE" that has issues with adams products? why is this? well i keep my paint as perfect as i can.

my local dealer who i bought this product from dont come over and see for himself. i've been complaining to him for a year. i bought a whole gallon of this stuff to help him out. a whole gallon... and its doing this on all my cars. i've even had him come see it last time i clay bared my rear hatch and used this detail spray. he saw it for himself and said "maybe this batch has to much gloss enhancer" and he was going to contact adams himself and get a replacement for me. he never did. that was about a month ago or more.

go head, nows the time to eat me alive and call out all the things i could be doing wrong.... but im not . i've tried every thing every ones told me to try to get it to work right... IMO its not going to work right..... meguiars detail spray doesnt do this.... optimum detail spray and wax spray doesnt do this... only adams detail spray.

I'd say you're doing it wrong. Everything - from posting to use of the product. Let me help:

Hi folks! I've had a problem for a while using Adam's QD spray and I'm not sure it it's my technique or if I possibly got a bad batch. As you can see from the pics I just snapped below, I'm getting a fair amount of streaking from the product. I've tried contacting my dealer and Adam's, but I've not found much luck with them so I was hoping that some of you guys (and gals) could help me come to a satisfactory conclusion.

I generally use M105, M205 to polish the finish on my vehicles, followed by using Optimum products as the LSP. The paint on these cars is in pretty good shape, if I do say so myself! I try hard to keep them looking great, so I'll sometimes dust them with a California Duster and follow up with this product. That's where I'm getting the streaking.

Has anyone else here had this problem - with Adam's QD or any other product? I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have!Feed back please

Do it like this and you don't get called names, and you don't get snarky comments. It's pretty easy to see why you get the replies you say you do, because you invite them upon yourself. :props:

I would like to add my 2 cents I was giving some Adam's products to try out . The products given to me were Glass Cleaner which is awesome . VRT also a great product and the Detail spray which I had no issues with at all . Gary the owner of Premium Mobile services in Tampa gave me the samples I suggest you PM him and maybe he can answer some of your questions . It's hard to do a review of these products on AG forum since they don't carry the line .

She moved on Adam. She came in long enough to start the thread, bash a product, cause some trouble, then leave. I bet the search rate for Adam's detail spray jumped quite a bit though, along with visits to his site.

I was thinking the common denominator might be they're all Mazda's!!

i dont just simply stop using it becasue i want to keep testing it and making sure its not just me....

Kinda like slapping a wasp nest several times in a row to see if they will keep stinging you each time? Throw the stuff out (along with the attitude), strip the paint, and go to products that you know won't smear/streak. The money spent on the product is gone why do the same with your time over and over?
