The owner recently traded up his '05 CTS-V (which I detailed two years ago) for this used '06 model, and as you can see the paint needed a "little" love in order to bring it back to life. ;)

I had hoped to keep this job two a two step correction, however there were far to many deep RIDS which were taking too long to remove so I opted to bust out the rotary and wool pads.

Correction Process:

-M105 via rotary and Solo wool pad
-M105 via DA and Meguiar's MF cutting pads (finished down very well)
-106fa via DA and tangerine LC Hydro pads

Coating Process:
-Foam bath with OPC and CGCW to remove all polishing oils
-IPA wipe-down
-Opti-Coat(Guard) applied with supplied yellow foam applicator to all paint, wheels, trim, and lights. (8cc used)

Polishing aggressively around gas doors can be tricky! By using some fine line 3M tape I'm able to protect the edges during the heavy compounding while still getting very close to them....much better than using 3/4" masking tape. ;)

This is after the first two steps....look how nicely M105 finished down on the MF pads! :)

Not 100% gone, but hardly noticeable. (removed around 8-10 microns)

Thanks for looking,

Great work. The CTS-V is a beautiful car, and deserves to have a shine like that to go along with the horsepower.

Gorgeous man, just gorgeous  Interesting combo too, wool - mf - foam. So do you have a new shop yet?

RaskyR1,
If this was your car, would be comfortable performing this aggressive of a paint correction more than once in the life of the paint? (Not that it would ever need it again if owned by somebody that cares.)

Thanks buddy!

Nope. My best friend bought my house and he is going to let me use the garage for at least this summer....not sure what I'll do after that. :(

Turned out very nice Rasky :props:

Thanks Flash!

Great work!

Thank you! :)

There was/is still plenty of paint on this car, but no, this is not the type of correction you would want to do over an over again. The idea is to do it once and keep it well maintained, which the owner does. Having the Opti-Coat(Guard) on there will also help.

Great work on a beautiful black car. Nice to have a client that is able to keep the car up after a correction.

That was such a sweet deal you had going there for the first few months of marriage. I was so very envious of you. Now your trapped like the rest of us Im the MAN

Yep. Sold it on 3/4/11. Kind of sad after I stuck all that money into making the shop what it is now. At least it went to a good friend that will take car of it and use it often.

Now I just have a good reason to get out of the house Flash! :D

Hey rasky since you use these products frequently...does 106fa finish better than m205? ive been wanting to try other menzernas products so i am wondering if 106fa is equivalent to m205 or better?
Feed back please

It depends on the paint really. On this car it finished better. However, I always reach for M205 first for it's ease of use and time savings. ;)

Meh.

Liked the new hard edge design when Caddy came out with it but now..meh.

I love the CTS wagon tho, Sedan/Coupe is just meh. Especially the odd shaped coupe.
