what would you suggest for a good OTC APC? would like to get a gallon. strong enough for engines and wheel wells, but safe enough for stripping trim of previous products. safe for plastics etc. when diluted. looked at a few like castrol super clean, simple green.

Does it really need to be OTC?

Megs APC+ is always a forum favorite and reasonably priced.

I strictly use Optimum Power Clean. I am a former user of Zep citrus, you can find this at the Home Depot for about $11/gallon. Check with local body shop suppliers, sometimes they can get you Meg's APC+ if you don't want to order it. Have you considered buying in bulk? For instance when Autogeek runs free shipping on orders over $95, add a couple gallons of APC to your order so that you are stocked up. Just some ideas. :)

I second this. I use most of optimum line and just restocked a gallon of instant detailer, protectant, tirebond, and car wax...with their recent 15%off and free shipping. got to take advantage of these moments lol

I like Castrol Super Clean. Purple Power is another great option. Stay clear of Simple Green

I have both Megs APC and APC+. They are the only APCs I use now and I use them in/on cars and as a household cleaner. Awesome cleaning power and great smell.

Zep Purple degreaser for tires, engines

Zep Citrus for wheels, wells, etc. Both available at Home Depot for around $11/gal. Cut each one 4:1

does anyone use powerclean on carpets, just never hear much on that.
but second the zep on tires and wheels-thanks for that tip a while back richy:xyxthumbs:

I use SG to clean my foam pads..is that a problemFeed back please

I would like to know as well.

I really can't say for sure as I've never tried it (SG on Foam)

All I know is about 20 years ago I used it to clean an engine and it had a terrible reaction to bare aluminum. The customer was "Super Pissed" so from that day forward I've never used it and will "Never" endorse it

Having said that. Yea, you'll "Probally" be o.k. using it to clean pads :bolt:

Megs APC+ is great for exteriors but I like Megs APC for interiors. I like the foaming action of APC on interiors and the strength of APC+ for tires, wheels, wells, bugs, etc.

thanks for all the input. i will try the megs next order. for now i picked up the castrol super clean.

Isn't that the opposite that they were made for? Apc+ is for interiors with the no foam attribute and apc is for everything else?
I personally use apc+ for everything except tires, engines, and wheelwells. For that, I use purple power.

Reason being what???????

and being what are the problems with Simple Green? Stains, residue, smells bad, what???? Curious as to why not to use... Buehler, Buehler, Ferris Buehler...
